Pros

It is definitely waterproof! Okay, so I’m not one that does a whole lot of product reviews; if I like it, I keep it and if I don’t, I just don’t get another one. I prob will never write another review, but this story just needs to be told. I purchased this case in July for an upcoming canoe trip with a friend, and as luck would have it, we flipped our canoe about an hour from our pick up point. Being the rebel that I am, I chose not to wear my phone around my neck, and so it, my ID and my debit card ended up at the bottom of the river and I just assumed it would be discovered a thousand years from now and placed in a museum as an ancient artifact. Fast forward to earlier this week. I was contacted via FB by an Alachua County Sherrif’s Office diver and guess what he found? Yup, my phone case with all of the contents intact and dry as a bone! He had to cut the case open, but there was not one single drop of water in it and he ended up purchasing a case for himself because he was just that impressed! I’m not one who is easily impressed by much of anything anymore, but if you are planning a trip and need a waterproof case, this is the one to get!

Waterproof for OVER A MONTH. I lost my phone in the ocean over a month ago. A big wave knocked it from my grip and I thought it was lost forever. A diver found it in perfect condition, in 8 feet of water and a foot under the sand. Once it charged up, it was like nothing happened. If that doesn't convince you to buy this, I don't know what will! Highly recommend 👌

iPhone X & 11. I purchased two of these for myself (iPhone X) and my wife (iPhone 11) for a trip to the Galapagos Islands, where we would be on beaches and go snorkeling. My personal experience with this product was outstanding! I took my phone snorkeling and got some great footage, and it was completely waterproof the whole way. We both had our cases on our phones and didn't need to remove them prior to placing it in the pouch. I would, however, like to point out some flaws with this TYPE of product (not specific to this brand): - The inside of the pouch can and will become humid and foggy, leading to some cloudy pictures and videos. This is inevitable with this type of product, although I'm sure you could spray it with something to prevent this issue. - It doesn't fit perfectly to your phone. It won't. It shouldn't. There will be air bubbles and voids so using your phone may feel a little difficult, but it's manageable. - If you squeeze all the air out before sealing, it can help with the above issue, but that also makes pulling the phone out a chore. You can end up throwing your phone across the room if you're not careful. I've always been skeptical of these and judged tourists for having them (let's be honest, they look lame), but after using one I can't say I'm not pleased. This product allowed me to get some great snorkeling footage and I can safely say I'm completely pleased with my purchase.

Cons

lots of issues with these. I bought four of these for our family vacation in Orlando -- we went to multiple theme parks with water features including Discovery Cove where you can swim with sea life. Four family members; four JOTO pouches. Each day one of us was responsible for keeping a cell phone dry to take photos and communicate. Luckily I bought four of these because each day one broke -- the closure clasp, the lanyard, the case -- only one survived and that is because we stopped using them and that one remained in it's wrapper. I am so disappointed. I wasn't even able to get many images of our up close encounters with sea creatures because the touch screen would shut off every time I went under water. I'd start it above water to be sure it was running and then under water it went off. Then, I tried the opposite and couldn't get it to turn on when underwater. I would like my money back from these purchases and hope the manufacturer reads these and will reach out to me. I also hope someone else could recommend a product that we could use next time.

Did not work - broke my iPhone 7. I really really really wanted to love these cases. Ordered 3 for a trip to Cancun. Mine worked for the first 2 days and halfway through the 3rd day, my iPhone stopped working. When we opened the case, there was about 2 ounces of water that had someone leaked inside. I tried everything, including rice, to save my phone but nothing worked. After this, none of us wanted to risk using these cases anymore. My phone is now completely broken and I lost all of my photos from the trip, including very important photos from my best friends wedding since we were in Cancun for her wedding. I am extremely upset and disappointed. It is one thing to have your phone broken, but these are memories I will never get back.

Defective or Cheap? UPDATE with iPhone 11 Pro (Incompatible?). The media could not be loaded. Since apparently viruses can live on smartphone surfaces, cleaning smartphones whenever you go out is now necessary. To make the process easier, I bought this so-called waterproof pouch. I’ve owned this item since May 26th, but I only go out a few times nowadays due to the coronavirus pandemic, so I haven’t really been using it that much. When I first received the item, I did follow the instructions that said to test it before using it with a phone. The product did work at first and I foolishly trusted it to stay that way. Recently, I discovered that the JOTO pouch was opening at the bottom left corner. After coming home one day I washed the JOTO pouch but then I noticed that there was liquid in the JOTO pouch and on my iPhone (thank goodness my phone still worked after that). Now imagine using this “waterproof pouch” in a swimming pool given the product description. I don’t know what could’ve caused this product issue as nothing in the product’s description on Amazon nor in the instructions it came with would indicate how the JOTO pouch could be ripped apart. I may have been given a defective product, I don’t know. The product didn’t cost much, but it feels cheap for not even lasting much longer than a month and with minimum use. I gave it a 1 Star-Rating because that kind of unpredictable defect could destroy someone’s phone. UPDATE I recently had to get a new iPhone and out of curiosity bought another Joto to see if it would work with it. It does fit the iPhone 11 Pro, even with the Battery Case on it. I can say that I must've gotten a Defective Product last time because I haven't had that issue again with this one. HOWEVER, during PHONE CALLS, for whatever reason when trying to press buttons or without even touching the screen, the screen keeps blinking and I can't control ANYTHING on the screen. I can only control the buttons on the outside of the iPhone (so if I want to hang up, but even sometimes that doesn't work for whatever reason and I had to turn off the iPhone because I was stuck on the Voice Mail function one time.). I tried my best to record the weird effect the Joto bag had on my iPhone 11 Pro and without the phone in the Joto bag for comparison (first part of the video is without the Joto bag). My previous iPhone was a 6s and I don't remember it ever being that bad. I previously gave this product a 1-Star even though I wasn't sure whether to blame the product or the "bad luck" of one defective version I got, but I believe even if you try to use this product, without the intention of getting it wet, it shouldn't make the iPhone "malfunction" during something as basic as a phone call. The iPhone was able to fit in the Joto bag, so I don't know why it wouldn't work for it.
