Pros
Like a lot of other over-stated power banks, this is NOT 10,000mAh capacity. May 2nd, 2021 UPDATE: I've changed my review to 4 stars because of a feature I didn't notice before. On the product description page one of the images states to hold the power button down until the last digit flashes consecutively. This enters the power bank into a low power charge mode, allowing me to charge items like bluetooth headsets (I have multiple) and my FitBit. Other power banks cut off around 100-200mA, but this feature is actually awesome, and considering they are on sale, I'm gonna buy another 2 pack. I recently ran a number of power banks and 26650 cells thru 2 different capacity and/or load testers. To my surprise, the 1st two items I tested came in at just over their stated capacity (as they should). However, this Getihu power bank did NOT. After charged to 100% capacity and tested at 5v, 2.4A load (12W), this power bank produced 6,214mAh (keep in mind that is at 5v). Capacities are generally stated based on the cell's voltage inside (3.7v in this case). So, looking at total POWER, in Watt Hours (Wh) this produced 6,214mAh x 5V = 31.07Wh. The case clearly states 37Wh (or 10,000mAh x 3.7V). So, this product, while priced attractively, it NOT a 10,000mAh capacity power bank. Multiply that loss by the 2 pack and you just got ripped off for about 12Wh of capacity you paid for. The PRO's for this pack do include it's small size, multiple outputs, and USB-C port which is and input/output port. However, I've noticed the USB-C port doesn't want to charge certain items, most likely a power negotiation issue or something. I also was able to verify that the USB-C port can indeed handle 2.4Amp output for extended periods of time. I'm currently running a 2nd test on this power bank with a 1.2Amp load, to see if capacity improves at all with a lower discharge rate.
I charged three 7" tablets and my phone with a fully charged GETIHU power bank. Ok, I'm impressed. I purchased two of these GETIHU power banks for under $25 and I can charge about every small electronic device I own. If these last five years, I will consider them the best value I've seen in a very long time.
First class better quality replacement of defective battery pack! Awesome customer service, start to finish!! I purchased this two pack of power banks and they were defect . I also paid much less on a lightening deal.. a week or two later, one of the battery packs stopped working. I emailed the manufacturer and they got back fairly quickly. I explained what happens sent a photo and they immediately shipped me a replacement batter pack…but they actually sent me their newer version of the one that broke!! Seriously didn’t expect any help but they went the extra mile with me! I highly recommend this company!
Cons
Lasted only a few cycles then dead - both units. I bought these to power the Quest 2 while in use. I tried to stop charging them around 80-90% and did not let them get lower than 20% battery. They were only stored in an air conditioned house or in the back pocket of the person using the Quest 2. One day, just a couple of months after, one just stopped working. You could plug in power to charge the unit and it would light up and show you the % filled. When you would plug in anything into the in/out USB C or either USB type A, it would not work. Hey, well, one still worked, so figured "It was cheap enough, guess I got a dud, nbd." Well, a month later, the 2nd one died. Ugh. Not happy. In total they lasted 2-3 months with very light use and reasonable charging cycles (half the time charged only to 80-90%, rest up to 100%). I think we maybe used them about 10-20 cycles max over those 2-3 months each, probably less. LiPoly should last 200-300 cycles before hitting 80%, so something went bad with these. I thought I was safe as I research pretty extensively. I read comments and I use FakeSpot. I should've seen the $17 price tag as a red flag and just spent another 10-20 bucks.
This is NOT fast charging! Do NOT buy this!. There is nothing fast charging about these... I fully charged the batteries then later that night plugged in my phone. Took 4 hours to charge my Android phone. And the battery pack went down to 43%. So if I would have traveled with this .. I never would have even gotten 2 charges. But FOUR HOURS?? I could plug my phone in normally and it will charge quicker than that. Waste of money!!!! Also just for kicks I tried the second one .. same thing. So it is the product for sure. Update:. The manufacturer reached out to me and sent me a different product - Not listed here - it did charge my phone multiple times. But it has nothing to do with the item we are reviewing here. While it was amazing customer service I can not change my review of THIS ITEM.
Product failed after a week of use - upgraded review in response to customer support experience. One of the two batteries failed after a week of use. The other battery is still working, but because it's a 2-pack I must return both. Just as well, since odds are high the other will also fail soon. Poor value due to the wasted time arranging a return. My replacement will likely be a more established brand. I don't recommend gambling on getting a product from these guys until they build up their quality control. Updated 9/27 - I am upgrading this review from 1 to 3 stars in recognition of TopStar's support of their GETIHU brand. Brand rep Lina reached out with guidance on possible solutions to try. When I replied with my results and it became clear the product was defective, she took the step of refunding the purchase immediately in exchange for a request to send the defective battery directly to them (including on-site pickup of the package) so that they could more closely examine the battery. This is what a premium brand does in support of their products. Although my first experience with a GETIHU product was poor, I believe it won't be long before this company earns an excellent reputation for their brand, and will consider GETIHU's newer products when I need to purchase again in the future.
