This Got Kinda Hot When Recharging. It' seems really cool. I had concerns about the product lasting, so I went with another option for now. I added "1" star to my initial 3-star review with the following adjustment: Update: The manufacture reached out and provided me a replacement unit which has been performing just fine. I added a star to my review for their customer service. It does seem that they will make it right in the event your unit fails, they will provide a replacement under their warranty. I've only used the replacement once but so far so good, will report back if my unit fails like some of the other reviews have stated, which prompted my initial concern with the item's reliability and longevity
Awesome simple design & super portable. Also resolved an issue with my macbook pro. First of all, the power bank has a solid build with a metal casing that has a cool line texture. The only plastic parts are the screen and the backplate of the power bank which still feel like a premium product. It's so light that it's no different from carrying an extra iPhone around. It works immediately the moment you plug in a device & handles multiple devices quite well. Interestingly enough, this power bank was able to help me temporarily fix my MacBook pro's charging issue. I currently have a 15" Macbook pro (2016 model) which currently has a battery & charging issue. After getting frustrated with the laptop having sudden shutdowns due to the low battery life & inconsistent charge, I decided to use the Baseus power bank to charge the laptop. Not only did it charge the laptop, but it also helped me identify which ports are having charging/ connection issues since the power bank displays the Ampere to show how much current is being drawn out. Turns out 3 out of 4 ports on my Macbook aren't delivering power to the computer... So it technically doubles as a charging tool and a diagnostics tool. As for the rest of the feedback, I summarize it into a list of pros and cons to make the review shorter: Pros) -super lightweight with the right thickness & size to easily fit in a backpack/ computer case pouch -straight-forward design with only 4 ports (2 USB-c & 2 USB-a ports) and a single power button -screen visibility is surprisingly good even under direct sunlight -fast at turning off the screen once all devices are unplugged -can handle multiple devices quite well -it doesn't leave fingerprints for the most part (maybe except for the screen to a certain extent) -it can charge smaller devices for a long time. took almost 1 week to use up the power bank's power when it comes to casually charging 2 smartphones and 1 headphone on the side. (The Macbook drains power like crazy, but the power bank still provides enough power to last the computer for another few hours) Cons) -screen stays on as long as the device is charging something (probably due to the estimated time counter constantly changing or power draw changing) -the rubber feet aren't too grippy -still need to carry cables around to use the power bank -charging the power bank from low power to full charge is kind of slow (~2-3 hours). however, it might differ depending on the cable & charging brick used. Overall, a great product to use outside & at home as a charging station. I would recommend this product to anyone who goes out often and carries multiple different devices that may need charging.
Exceeds all expectations. I bought the product because I am a student and don’t like having to plug into a wall or sit in a certain area in the classroom to do it. The block has no issue charging my MacBook Pro and phone while I’m using the devices. I’m writing this review because I haven’t used it or plugged it in since May (last semester) and it still has 75% battery. It’s on the heavy side but exactly what you would expect for 30000mah.
Works nicely WHEN IT WORKS (Update). This charger has a sleek product design and nice display panel for showing charge rates and battery capacity. Plugging in a device via one of the USB-C ports begins charging immediately, however I cannot figure out how to begin charging a device when connecting it via one of the USB-A ports. UPDATE: Now the product isn't working at all. It just blinks 100 whenever I plug anything into it, even when using the supplied cable. Well, that's frustrating. If that can be resolved, this would receive five stars. Otherwise, excellent product! UPDATE 2: I spoke with Baseus who worked with me to provide me a functional product. It now charges devices from all ports and recharges itself just fine. Well done, Baseus! Customers make sure you don't get a lemon! This product does work!
Pass-through mode makes it reboot and stays very warm. I don't think the pass-through mode is real, it just cycles charging the battery between 90 and 100% over and over again. When you first plug a device in it cuts all power and reboots before sending power. Cannot be used as a UPS. Dell seems to be the only one who makes a real pass through battery bank, Dell PW7018LC.
Nice unit that charges fast. Nicely built and well packaged unit. Has a nice display that tells you the battery percent left, charging voltage/amps and time left. Just be aware that the advertised 20000 mAh is actually about 12500 mAh when you take into account the battery voltage (3.7) difference from the standard USB charging voltage (5V+) and other factors. This is true for all battery portable chargers. I was able to fully charge my iPad Pro which has a 10850 mAh battery from 5% to 100% and still have 25% capacity left.
Cons
Wonderful design, but only half the expected capacity. So many things were great about this battery, but when I tried it, it only ran my gear for 4.5 hours, when an 84wh battery (just a bit bigger) ran it for 10 hours! I fear the capacity is incorrect, or perhaps it's really, really inefficient at doing 12v over USB-PD. Either way I returned it. Now, I was sad because I loved the rest. It's thin and not too heavy (perhaps a warning sign.) It has 2 input/outputs, both able to do 100w plus USB-A. It's able to deliver more than 3a at 12v for a brief pulse, which is nice (I don't know why 100w batteries able to do 20v@5a say they only do the lower voltages @3a.) It does pass-through charging though it temporarily shuts down when you start, so beware plugging in charging power while it is powering something. The display is excellent, showing state of charge 0-100, voltage, current and watts. Hard to ask for more from the display. It does get a bit confused on what it shows doing pass-through but that's not a big fault, though I recommend either showing the net (with a sign) or alternate display of in, out and net. But in the end, even the perfect interface is useless if the battery can't deliver the power. It claims only 75% efficient at 5v, so maybe it's even worse at 12v? It would have to be around 60% efficient which is crazy -- or have less charge. I fear it has less charge because at 60w it said it should charge in under an hour, which should be impossible for this size of battery.
Loses Charge Quickly. When the power bank works - it does a good job, but since it is very difficult to tell when it's on and when it's off, you could carry it around thinking you have backup power, only to find out it has completely run out of juice. Very frustrating. My other power banks hold their charge for months. I would not recommend this product.
Gets very Hot!! I bought this to be able to charge my MacBook Pro 16 which it did. However it got extremely hot. Specially to the back right corner. Almost too hot to touch.
Died at 1 month. Was using it to charge my steam deck and I charged the battery to 100% and now it won't charge anything and just flash 100% when I plug anything in smh
Not a lot of juice. Pros: the display and its thinness. Cons: it takes a long while to charge and, more importantly, does not provide much life to my depleted devices. And it drains quickly when not in use. Altogether, a rued purchase.
Can't turn off the display while charging. It would be great if you could turn off the display while using the battery pack. It's nice to have the screen, but seems like a waste to keep it on the entire time you are charging something. Other than that it works well.
