Pros
Good battery life, very durable, jumps well! Well I like to try out RC cars before I let my daughter loose on them to see if they're good or they're going to break. I threw everything I could at this and it's one tough RC truck! Don't be put off by it's 1/18 scale, this thing didn't slow in the slightest as it transitioned from blacktop to grass, and it monstered over the grass with no noticable drop in speed. It's lightweight yet doesn't constantly get kicked off line by bumps, which indicates good suspension. I tried it on a few jumps off our bmx kicker ramp and it was going 4ft high without any problem and absorbing the landings easily. It comes with a full list of spare parts which is good if you do break anything you can replace it. That said whilst it was lightweight the plastic felt tough not cheap if you know what I mean. The lighweight saw us have a run time of some 15mins and I was pushing it hard along the way. The battery charger is USB and charged the pack back up in under 2 hrs which was quite impressive. It handles very, very well and won't constantly be turning over, which is good for beginners. Also the tires have good grip on blacktop, grass and packed dirt, this is good as the cheaper smaller buggies sometimes get let down by their tires. It's RTR so all you need is transmitter batteries. Good value for the money, and quick enough to keep my daughter entertained, yet not so fast as to get you in trouble.

It’s very stable and controllable for a 1/18th scale. The 380 sized brushed motor makes it move pretty fast. The steering servo is relatively quick for it’s size. I like the small, but adequate controller. The controller has minimal features, but does include steering trim, steering reverse, but most importantly a slow/normal switch that is great for kids or beginners. It allows you to tame down the speed for added controllability. You’ll need two AA batteries for the remote. The included 650mah li-ion battery for the truck lasts longer than expected, 10-15 minutes on average. The included usb charger can fully charge the battery in about 90 minutes if you use a 2amp or higher USB charger, longer if it’s a small 1amp USB charger. Buying additional batteries would be a good idea for uninterrupted play. Just let the electronics and motor cool down for a bit between batteries. Fortunately the 1100mah li-po with JST plug for the WL-Toys A9X9 series cars will fit in the HBX Rampage, giving you longer run times and higher speed! You do have to make a small adjustment by removing/reinstalling one screw to move the battery bracket up to accommodate the thicker battery. Another great upgrade would be oil filled shocks to dramatically improve handling and jumping capabilities. See included pictures of some great shocks from Amazon. Overall the HBX Rampage is an amazing vehicle for all ages and skill levels. It’s also nearly indestructible to boot! Although if you do manage to break it, there are plenty of replacement and upgrade parts available. I highly recommend this truck! 👍👍
30 KPH not 30 MPH. This is a great RC car. The only thing they don't tell you is that online it says 30 MPH. Well once you get the directions on the front page it says 30 KPH which turns into 18 MPH and that's not close to 30 MPH. Although I don't like this, it's still fast and durable as well as splash proof . If you were doubting buying this because of the speed you should still get it. I have it and its amazing
Cons
It was fun but hasn't lasted. My 8-yo son liked this RC car when he first got it, but after less than 2 weeks of use it has lost noticeable amount of its power and battery life. When he first got it, he ran it mostly in "slow" mode because it was plenty fast and easier to control. He'd get a good 15-20 minutes of play time. Now, however, the lower-speed mode drives like a cheap $20 toy car and "full" speed is closer to what it used to be in low-speed mode. Even worse, the battery now gives him less than 10 minutes of play time. Something is clearly wrong with it, but the seller is not willing to repair or replace it, just says 10 minutes is normal and recommends not running it off-road. We don't drive it on anything other than the smooth pavement in front of our house. Needless to say, my little boy is totally disappointed in something he spent his own money on and doesn't even want to take it out any more.
Initially amazing, but failed quickly. Bought this because I'm stationed out in the middle of the freaking desert with the Army and bored out of my mind. This thing was initially amazing, went close to 25-30 MPH, all wheel drive, and very responsive. However, two big problems make me give this a 3-star instead of 4 or 5. 1. The axles and suspension are not sealed, so they quickly filled with sand and grit and completely locked up. I tried dusting them out with compressed air to no avail. You'd have to actually disassemble them to get everything working right again. 2. I unfortunately experienced the same issue it seems a lot of other reviewers did: the remote (or car, hard to tell which) went haywire and would lock itself in full reverse throttle randomly. Nothing I did would seem to make it stop. Much as it pains me to say, I wouldn't recommend this.
❗SERVOS BREAK WITHIN 30 MIN! ON 4 VEHICLES !❗. This is for the green 18859e "Rampage" monster trucks. So out of the box these cars are super fast and an absolute blast to rip around the yard. I got these for my kids along with a "big boy" Traxxas Slash for myself. On the Haiboxing models, I put them in training mode for a couple batteries, so they could get a feel for it, then I let them do racing or full speed "normal" mode. I think they had more fun that night than the entire rest of this year! Seriously they had so much fun. However, HUGE PROBLEM: The steering servos broke on EVERY SINGLE ONE of these models (I have been through 4 of these 18859e cars now!! At first I was thinking maybe i just got a faulty couple of cars, so send it back, get a new working one, that's the benefit of buying on Amazon). I ordered 4 brand new replacement servos as well! WE ARE NOT ABUSING THE CARS. My kids only use them under my supervision because they could be dangerous missiles, and because they are LiPO powered. These are breaking, fast, under light to moderate usage. All of them. It's definitely not normal wear and tear. Clearly there is something wrong with the design here - or i got 4 with bad servo internals - this same particular single gear inside the servos, cannot withstand the stress the servo motor puts on it. They maybe need to use a stronger type of plastic for this gear or have better QC. The vehicles also seem to struggle to keep the servo centered and some of them were noisy buzzing and clicking right out of the box. They're supposed to be fairly on center and then you can use the trim to fine tune it. Not sure of that contributed here. I'd think any overheating damage would cause issues closer to the servo motor than midway up the shaft. Anyways, if these new servos don't hold up, all 4 vehicles are going back, and I'll try a different brand, maybe splurge on a "real" name brand. The replacement servos are Haiboxing OEM/stock, for this specific vehicle, and also ship from Amazon, not upgraded or aftermarket ones (as far as I know). This is such a shame because when these are running they are so cool, fast and fun! They really are... And if they didn't have this issue, I'd for sure be recommending them to friends and family to get some for their kids too because they're just excellent for the price point. I don't understand how of all the reviews and questions I see on here, forums, YouTube etc... this show stopping issue is not mentioned anywhere. Which makes me think, maybe I got unlucky with the batch mine came from and normally they are fine. Bad batch of gears from the injection molding factory, idk. Maybe they used the wrong plastic. In the pictures attached here, you can see the broken gear on 3 different servos. There is also a stock picture of a single gear on plain background. That's not the exact same gear that is breaking, but shows what I am talking about. It's maybe called a reducer gear or something. That smaller radius portion with less teeth keeps self-destructing, and all the tiny plastic teeth get stuck in there. You can see the remnants of one tooth in one of the pics. The rest were already tweezed out before I decided to do a review. But without that smaller part of the gear, the gearbox can't transfer power to the yellowish gear on the right, which spins freely on its shaft, and normally meshes with the destroyed part of the white gear. Normally, that yellowish gear reduces the rotation further and so forth up to another gear which sits in the "cap", which turns the output shaft and eventually, steers your car. If you still want to buy this car, my advice is to figure out who makes an "upgraded" all-metal servo that fits this car. Or perhaps buy from a hobby shop who can help you figure it out or do an exchange or something.
