12" Selfie Ring Light with 63" Tripod Stand - Good for startup Podcasters and TikTokers. As a photographer, I'm always looking for lights, we can never have too many. The legs on this tripod are made of thin metal, each only eleven inches long from the hinge to the rubber foot base. If I were to guess, I'd say that the tripod itself is around one inch in diameter. As with any tripod at this price point, there is a 'safe' extension space, extending past that will make the tripod wobble and is unsafe. I would say that five feet is the maximum safe height for this tripod while leaving equal pipe within each section.. The ring light is twelve inches, so it's small and not made for long distance photography or videography, that's for the big lights. Setting the tripod on a desk, table or counter is ideal if the space is there, if not then setting it up behind, or at the corner would work out well. Would be great for side shadow lighting, or lighting up the area behind the subject. The light base is able to be tilted into whatever position is needed or desired within the range that a tripod mounted light can allow. I've had this light running for over three hours now and it has stayed lit without overheating or flickering, though the adapter does get a little warm. The multiple lighting opportunities that the multitude of color options this light ring has are limited only by the imagination. The phone bracket spreads out enough to hold a large galaxy phone, but not any kind of tablet. I was concerned about mounting the bracket to the tripod at first, it's a bit tight to slide on, but manageable. I'd suggest leaving it on when taking down. The little remote Bluetooth'd easily to my phone, not only does it take pictures with a click, but starts and stops videos with a click also. It's a pretty impressive little light if it's used the way it's meant to be used, especially at $29.99. My only real gripe and this has become a pet peeve of mine, is that there is no adapter included, which means unless there happens to be a spare one laying around, one will need to be purchased. It is not recommended that this light ring be plugged into a computer or laptop.

The wireless button provided connected quickly to my Iphone and I was able to mount the phone to the provided phone holder. The last picture was taken wirelessly with my phone attached to the stand and using remote shutter. The lighting is beautiful and does not have any gaps. The LED modes are fun to play around with a lot of different motions available. My favorite though are the solid lights in Blue, 2700k and 3000k. The can provide a nice backdrop for photography especially if you want to isolate the lighting to create a Rembrandt effect. The installation was a breeze and I was ready to use the unit within one minute. However, there are a few things that prevented me from giving this product a 5 star rating. First, the build quality could have been better. However that always comes with extra weight. Nonetheless I feel I need to be extra careful when transporting it. Additionally, I was disappointed that the ring light must be powered by a 5V/2A output power supply and cannot be connected to a laptop's USB port. Lastly, I found that the tripod stand could be a bit more sturdy and stable, although it did hold up well during use. Despite these small setbacks, I would still highly recommend the Kaiess 12” selfie ring light to anyone looking for a high-quality and versatile lighting solution. It was super easy to put together, and connect the remote to Bluetooth. Easy to take pictures and record with the remote from the camera app. Adjustable height for different situations is perfect for me.
Great gift for a girl of almost any age. The media could not be loaded. Very easy to assemble and a great gift for a girl. My daughters are always trying to take pictures and videos of themselves by propping their phones onto various objects, half the time not getting the angle right or watching the phone crash to the floor. This device is great for holding the phone at any height and any angle. The light can be changed to many different colors and effects, but I would imagine plain white is the most useful. The only minor problem I have with it is that the controller for changing the light color is not easy to use. Some of the buttons appear to do nothing, and you have to cycle aimlessly through all kinds of colors and effects with little control over which one you’re going to land on. But going to plain white is always an easy option with its own button. I don’t think this will bother little kids. Decent Ring Light. To start, this is not as bright as I thought it was going to be. However, if it's close up enough it works great for selfies and such. Good beginner light. To me, the light is bright for up-close filming or picture taking. The light does not emit enough light for across the room filming. The tripod feet look and feel cheap to the point if you put the light down hard it might bend. Fully extended and the light straight up the total height is close to 6 feet. But at full extension the light is wobbly. The pole itself seems to be well-made and can be easily adjusted to many heights. As for the light itself, there are plenty of colors and patterns to select from. The cell phone holder is fine but in the picture that has the red circle around the attachment part, that plastic is flexible but can see over time it might snap.

The phone holder only squeezes the phone from the sides and provides no support on the bottom. My phone almost slipped out after it was in the phone holder. Some of the pieces the metal screws go into are plastic. I'm not sure how durable it is. There is no back on the RGB settings button. So if you miss the color or pattern you want, you have to cycle through all of them again.
You get what you pay for. It's exactly what it says it is. But the material is not sturdy or strong enough to hold more than your phone. I would say get it if you are a beginner and just learning the vlogging world.
