Pros & Cons

Pros

Good laptop but terrible power supply! Works great! I am very happy with its performance so far. Finally being able to play God of War and Cyberpunk on high or even ultra is nice. However, the charger that came with the laptop has a super loose port for the wall outlet cable. I can’t move the adapter without it trying to wiggle itself free. This is causing a really annoying pop up every so often stating that the charger is ‘inserted incorrectly’ even though it’s charging fine. I tried my old Asus power supply with no issues, but that one has a lower amperage so I’ll find a suitable replacement.

FIRST TIME Start Ups May Be Slow. Overall a solid working product. Understand it may take time to fully boot up, the first review given for this laptop talked about the black screen and how it never displayed anything on boot up. That reviewer unfortunately may have gotten a defective unit which happens and sorry that person had to go through that. With my unit it did take 2-3 minutes to fully boot up and get working the first time, so GIVE IT TIME. I don’t know why ASUS laptops sometimes have long first time startups. Just be patient for a few minutes. Just note it may not work for everyone, take action at your own discretion.

Great little gaming beast, and so easy to upgrade! Got this machine as a replacement for my daily work driver and its solid. The easy upgradability makes it so easy to add extra storage, or swap out the RAM. Took me under 10 minutes to do both! Out of the box it works great. The screen is GORGEOUS, and this thing plays games very well but does get a little warm (should be expected given the specs of this little beast). If you are going to be using this as a desktop replacement the lack of display port means it cant exactly reach its full potential when outputting to an external display.

Money well spent! The only con I have so far is that there’s no webcam but I knew of that prior to purchasing it. Most laptops webcams are serviceable at best, so it’s no big deal really. Gaming performance and battery are definitely an upgrade from my Dell G7 7500 RTX 2070 model. The 1440p screen looks amazing as well! Would recommend! Edit: I seen someone say they got the 1080p 300hz model instead of the 1440p 240hz model. I can confirm this model does have the 1440p 240hz screen. The correct model number is G533ZW-AS94Q. The “Q” at the end of the model number more than likely stands for QHD.

Speed demon. This laptop is a speed demon. I get 12550 on 3dmark and that’s stock out of the box. You can get as high as 14k if you overclock. The Intel cpu scores way higher than amd as well. They did awesome this generation. The only thing is I didn’t get a soft case like I see on many reviews. I am in the USA and got it from Amazon on Black Friday for 1600 usd. I used the saved money to buy a 64gb memory upgrade and bought a 2tb wd black 850x that scored 6900 read and 6700 write. That’s a great score since you never get as high as most advertise. The advertised speed is 7300. I have been using this laptop for 3 months and it hasn’t crashed yet.

Cons

Touchpad not working right out of box, and more. It was a disaster from moment one. Touchpad not working, so googled and nothing worked. Called C/S and they were like, "what's a computer?" Like that clueless. Windows wouldn't load right. No manual to be found on their website to tell you about the features etc. Just a huge waste of time and tying up of $2k for a while. Got an Acer Nitro with 64GB memory, i9 chip, 3060 GPU, etc. instead for $500 less or so and it worked out perfectly. Doesn't work screen remains pitch black. Big dissapointment since I like Asus gaming laptops, but after jumping through hoops of Asus Customer Support and constantly having to remind them what the issue was, and that the device serial number doesn't register on their support site? This is the worst laptop and customer support I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY at the moment, the laptop power button and lights work but the system and screen does not turn on. I have tested the computer on a second monitor and have tried every single guide available for Asus Laptop with black screen and none of them work. I contacted Asus Customer Support via calls and for 30 mins straight, all they could confirm was that my serial number was "invalid" and told me to wait for Customer Support emails for assistance. This morning, I woke up to the first Customer Support email asking me why I didn't "just register the serial number" for customer support assistance, to which I have to explain why that isn't possible AGAIN. The second email I got was from another Customer Support individual who says that he has read all of my information (finally) and concluded that my serial number is in fact VALID then immediately concluded that my problem is resolved. News flash, I am still $2000 poorer and my gaming laptop is still broken and they have done absolutely nothing to address this issue, despite me asking for a replacement or simply just provide guides to help me fix the laptop. If I have read everything correctly, the manufacture is responsible if the product is faulty and the insurance I purchased with the laptop only applies if the laptop itself is damaged by outside elements like spillage and they can't even get that sorted out. You are risking wasting your money, time and mental well being by buying this glorified rainbow paperweight and believe that customer support will help you out. They won't and will only make your day worse.

No encendio. Compre esta computadora y al recibirla no encendio, despues de varias horas de carga siguio sin encender, la unica solucion que me dieron fue la devolucion del dinero, se veia buena y segun las espcificaciones de la caja su pantalla si venia QHD apesar de traer la RTX3070 Ti que normalmente viene de FHD, sin embargo lastimosamente no pude disfrutar de ninguna de sus prestaciones.

Real great money for the deal. ***Important Update: Noticed that when the laptop plugged in AC power, and play anything with sound. The touchpad will stop working without any reason, and will work again after stop playing the sound. If i play sound using Bluetooth, even with power plug in. The touchpad will work. Playing sound without power plugged in, touchpad work. Tried update driver no help. (And there are a lot of people facing this problem on reddit) ------- Got this on sale before xmas. Is QHD with 240. Working really fine and work like a beast considering spending less than 2k usd and got such powerful spec. Other brand or laptop with those spec u need 2.5k and above. Really easy to upgrade. Added 1tb extra ssd and upgrade from 16gb to 32gb ram myself. (Although bios cant change any xmp on ram speed. But i think it running full 4800) Although the fan is quite loud when running at full speed/turbo mode. But on other mode is okay. Only downside is battery life last me around 2 to 3 hour on light to medium use.(non gaming use) Come with 280w big power supply. But on light to medium use. I just use baseus 65w type c charger. And it was working fine. So super portable to bring around without the big brick.
