Pros
Probably for younger kids. This product is made in a very nice quality and we received it fast. However, our 8 year old refused to use it although it's her first trying skiing in a snow field. We thought it would make her feel safe with Dad holding her from the back but she insisted only babies would do that. Anyways she did do well without using it, so we felt maybe it works better for younger kids probably toddlers.
Broke after one use. The plastic on the leash broke after one use. Thankfully the product came with two, but we are hesitant to use it on the slopes now because it snapped on the first use. Should've spent my money elsewhere... ETA: The company’s customer service was great! I’m hoping to be able to try the product again fingers crossed it was a one time occurrence.
I was anti-harness before I got this one! Love it. I was very anti-harness prior to having a child and having been a ski instructor most of my life. However the freedom this gives my little one to explore their balance and control is amazing. I love how it rides on the hips and the control comes from there. Easy to use - it's great that we can adjust the placement of the leads for more/less control as she grows and gains experience.
Wonderful harness for beginner skiers. Highly recommend the ski harness for kids. It has been so helpful for teaching my four year old how to ski!

Helpful when hiking, using chairlifts, in snow, and skiing…. We haven’t used for skiing yet, but the handle on the harness makes trips to the mountain much easier! It’s nice to be able to hold the handle and give some extra security when the kids are on an open chair lift or on slippery ice/snow.
Cons
Chest Strap Choking Hazard. The chest strap is way too high on the shoulder straps, at least for our daughter’s size. When you try to pick the child up by the back handle, the chest strap slides up with the harness and grabs bottom of chin/neck area. If the harness got snagged on anything like a chairlift, the chest strap could possibly cause a major injury. This is simply not safe. The harness quality is good, but the design is poor. The chest strap is simply not safe and should not be on the harness or worn. The waist strap slides up (no leg straps to keep in place) and the chest strap catches the child’s neck area. Without the chest strap, at least the waist strap would catch under the arms instead of the load being placed around the neck/jaw from the chest strap. After recognizing the issue, I went back realized the manufacturer provided videos on Amazon even show the chest strap rising up to the kids neck/jaw area.
Small handle, no easy place to store straps, chest strap pretty high. So we bought this over the "brand A" model which we already have for our son because it seemed to adjust in more places, seemed more sturdy. But there were a few things we didn't like compared to the other one. The back handle is a little small for my big hands and I have to fumble around to get a good grip on it. The upper chest strap seems a little high and basically ended up in her chin when hoisting her up to the lift chair. And there's no easy storage for the straps. The other brand has a pouch to tuck them away easily when getting on the lift.
Over engineered with no good strap storage. There isn’t a good place to quickly store straps when getting on lift. Pocket on back of harness is too small to even fit one strap. The handle is small and hard to grab with a gloved hand. The harness is also quite big for my small 3 year old. Overall quality is fine but it’s over engineered. Suggest a simpler version with easy storage. Update: increased to 3 stars as seller provided full refund.
Helpful first time skiing; question quality. The media could not be loaded. Update 2022: Went to use this for the second time ever and the chest strap broke right off. Tried to put it back on with pliers and other tools without luck. I guess it may still work with just the waist strap but will likely slide off my sons shoulders. Bummed, loved the concept but not good if it breaks;( I bought this harness in preparation of taking my 4 year old skiing for the first time. I had no idea how he would do and I had this fear that every time he'd fall (bound to happen, right!?) that I'd be pulling his arm out of his socket to get him up. Having this harness on was super helpful. For the first time, as recommended in the directions we just used the harness and not the straps. I was able to hold the back of the harness and help him up if needed. It also gave me a place to hold him while getting on the magic carpet until he got the feel for it. He did take a lesson and the instructor wanted him to learn to get up by himself. I did let him do it but I could tell when he became frustrated or over exhausted and then I could help. Just wanted to make sure he enjoyed the experience and had fun, which he did! He did not complain about having it on at all - I'm not sure he even knew:) It was very easy to adjust for the perfect fit! I was also impressed by the quality of the harness itself. I think we will get plenty of use out of it in the future with our next 2 as well!
Good product, but one minor flaw. One of the plastic quick clips was deformed and does not stay clipped. See photo. This is not detrimental for use, I simply ziptied it closed permanently.
