Decent for the mid to high handicapper. I bought this on sale, so it was definitely a deal, but I probably would’ve looked at a Garmin device if I was looking at the $500 pricetag. The camera, shot tracer, and data tracking are awesome for my needs, I was a high handicapper who didn’t need every little detail. Seeing my shot shape and distances told me a lot. I’m more in the mid handicap range now, so getting spin rates and such was more of a need and so I have a new, more expensive one. The accuracy was pretty good about 95% of the time. The recorded shots on the range matched up with the distances Id be hitting out on the course. Sometimes Id get a misread, but it usually started working again on the following shot. For the video, it would be great if we could video face on instead of only DTL. You’d lose the ball tracer, from this angle, but sometimes I just wanted to see my distances based on the front view.
This is a great training aid. I went to play around of golf after a long time away from the game. Needles to say I played poorly but decided I missed golf and I want to make an effort to get better. I like to go to the driving range between rounds but it can be difficult to watch the results of your swings and compare different shots. I started researching mobile launch managers and found that the Rapsodo was highly rated. Well, I can honestly say I love this little device! Went to the range with it the first day and just hit some balls and let it record the shots. When I went home and watched the videos and looked at the results I noticed some issues with my launch angle. I watched some YouTube videos on getting distance with your driver and went back to the range to try some of the suggestions out. Recorded the next session with my Rapsodo and the results showed a 20 yard improvement in average carry! This is the best device for testing and measuring the results of your practice!
It really is a good device. But it has somewhat of a issue. Recently purchased Rapsodo. I love everything about it besides one thing. It’s not really the Rapsodo itself but rather iPhone. Like many others your iPhone will overheat in Direct sunlight in about 10 to 15 minutes maximum. So I find myself a lot of times putting my iPhone in my back pocket so it’ll cool off in order to get another 10 to 15 minutes afterwards. Unfortunately this is also not good for your iPhone. When using it at home in the backyard with a net I can easily just put an umbrella over it which helps a lot. But at the driving range or on the course I don’t have the luxury or the space to do this. So I find myself only using it early in the mornings or cloudy days.
Fabulous at the range, not so much in my backyard. The software is super simple and easy to use, absolutely outstanding app. I don’t recommend this for using into a net as the system cannot see if you are causing any lateral spin, ie a slice. But at the range it can read all stats from the ball completing its full flight. I did notice that my phone got a little from time to time running in the sun. Overall a great launch monitor for the range.
Great Launch Monitor. My buddy had his Rapsodo for about a year before I was convinced to get my own. One of the best launch monitors on the market, especially at this price point. Love the video and flight path, accuracy seemed spot on. Its a great addition to anyone's golf game!
Improve your time on the Range. One of the keys to lowering your score is consistency in distance (as well as direction). The MLM provides the feedback needed to improve that consistency by providing accurate feedback on swing speed, carry distance, launch angle and more. It's pretty easy to set up and then provides very clear feedback on your swing and results. I've dropped a few strokes in my handicap is the past few months of using the MLM by dialing in my carry distances with my irons and thus improving my GIR percentage. Definitely recommend

For Me, This Is A Piece Of Junk. More Hassle Than It's Worth. Here is my honest opinion and experience. I purchased the Rapsodo MLM in July 2021. I carefully followed all instructions for use, even using a tape measure and a level for setup. I have used it on the range and in my backyard with a net. There have been times when it monitors my shots pretty well, but most of the time it misses too many shots. Sometimes more than half my shots go undetected One major problem is that after a short time using the device (1/2 hour or so), I'll get a warning notification indicating that my device is overheating, then the video feature shuts off completely (“a safety feature”). This was one of the main reasons for my purchase - immediate video feedback. I have used multiple iOS devices, including iPhones 7, 10, iPad Air 2, iPad Mini, and a new iPhone 13 Pro. The result is the same. After a short while, overheating warnings and video shutdown. I finally got the club identification feature to work, but only with the iPhone 13 Pro. None of the other devices listed would automatically identify any club. When I reached out to customer service to discuss my problems, I was disappointed to learn that I could only reach customer service for the MLM via email. Good luck finding a live person with whom you can speak. When I tried using the Chat feature on the support area of the website, clicking Chat did nothing - no response, using multiple web browsers. There is a telephone number in the website support area, but it has an automated voice message that directs you to reach them via email. I did receive a timely email response that blamed the overheating problem on possibly using the device in direct sunlight, having too many open apps on my phone, using it on a hot day (my iPhone 13 Pro overheated in 20 minutes using it on a nice 75-degree day, in the shade of backyard trees). Rapsodo’s email advised me to “Use the MLM at night or during cooler weather” or use an iPad, which should dissipate heat better (it didn’t). I was also told the auto club identifying feature only works with iPhone XS or higher, a detail that was not obvious during my research on their website. Using the MLM on the range seemed to be mostly accurate when it worked, though there were some clear misses. Distinguishing between range and indoor/outdoor net use was fairly straight forward, until recent updates to the app, which is now very confusing and frustrating. I feel duped out of $500 for a device that promised a lot, but in my case, didn’t deliver. UPDATE 10/15/2021: The latest firmware (1.3.24) update to the device appears to have improved the functioning of the MLM using iPhone 13 Pro. Most of my balls are being monitored, though there were still a few balls that the MLM did not catch. I was able to hit balls for more than a half hour without getting overheating warnings. The club identification feature is still problematic, even with the advanced iPhone 13 Pro camera. One day on the range, club identification worked pretty well, but a few days later, while hitting balls into a net in my backyard, it could not identify any of the same clubs. I hope these are signs of improvement that will continue.
Way too inconsistent…. I wanted to like it, but just could not. I bought it to gap my new wedges but it was so wildly inaccurate I could not trust it. The software and presentation are great. The way it presents club specific data is awesome (let’s you cull the outlier shots too). The video playback is awesome. But where it goes wrong is it appears to look at about 10-15 yards of ball flight and then extrapolates flight path and distance. I have a very hall ball flight and maybe that threw it off, tended to show a too short distance, and way less draw/fade. Some range sessions were just a bit off, others wildly off but setup all the same. I mostly used it at the range, but my eye was way more accurate than this (flags every 50 yards). I tried it indoors on the net and the few shots it managed to pick up just couldn’t be trusted (although I gave it a mulligan here because of poor lighting). After a few weeks this became an expensive tripod. Exchanged it for a $10 tripod, used the rest for lessons.
Helpful tool with big potential, but highly unstable, highly unreliable, and not very accurate. First the good. It has all the basic features I need, has video but no slow mo. Has auto detection of clubs, works on iron about 40% time. Does not work for other clubs, never correctly identified drivers, woods, hybrids. But that’s OK. I never expected a $399 machine to do something not even easy for human being. Audio announcement is great, I can listen with a Bluetooth ear phone without bothering others at the range. Data visualization is good too with the app on the phone. Option to continue a session is a useful feature if some interruption happens, for example, frequent crash of the phone app. Support of net is great, so it is good for the range and backyard/garage. In summary, this would have been a great tool if without the following areas for improvements. Now the bad, or areas to improve. 1. System easily overheat under the sun. Black housing heats up under the sun even without using it. Although the overheating seems from the iPhone, it is clear that the video taking, playback, and Bluetooth is stressing iPhone. Need to reduce the loading of the phone. 2. Battery life is unpredictable. It is said to last 4 hours, but sometimes barely last an one hour session with full charge. The radar would still show green and blue light, but video frozen and no measurements at all when that happens. App should have a battery meter so the user knows how much battery juice is remaining. 3. Highly unstable. The phone app crashes 3-5 times per 1 hour session. While the “continue “ feature allows me to get back to the session, it is better not to crash at all. Each crash cost me time to attend the machine and distract me from practicing. 4. Highly unreliable. I tried in different time of the day, from morning to night. While it is more reliable in good lighting conditions, still only about 70-80% shots were “seen” by the machine. Many times I hit a good shot and really curious about the measurements, only to find out nothing measured after the blue light turned into green. Vey disappointing! 5. Not very accurate. I am not looking for high accuracy. I don’t need it. But when things becomes ridiculous wrong, it made me wondering how could this be in 5% of the benchmark machine! Sometimes the ball went far away, but have a short measurement. Sometimes a ball went closer and measured much further than a ball flew further. My only hope is that the measurements can be at least consistent. 5. The prop of the phone is very easy to flip down and smash the phone screen to the ground. Good that I have protective glass on the screen, so the cracks can be replaced. Why I am not returning it? Because of the good part I discussed, and I believe most of the problems are in software and can be improved. So I will update if I see those improvements. If you have not bought one yet and considering this, you need to decide what is your priority: focus on your golf practice or spend a considerable portion of your session attending to the machine due to the bad things I discussed.
Detects about 50% of my shots. This is exactly what I wanted, if only it would detect and register my shots consistently. I use it outside to hit into a net, and it seems to only register about half my shots even though it’s the correct distance away, plenty of sunlight. The blue light flashes as if it detected my shot but it actually doesn’t. Very disappointed.
Great product, but destroys the Battery life of your mobile device. I do not usually write reviews but I feel like it is necessary with this product. It very well could help a future buyer or maybe even someone from Rapsodo will see this and can provide some feedback on the concerns. First of all, it is very easy to set up and use. The user interface is very friendly and the update that was just rolled out is great. Accuracy.. I cannot fairly judge this yet. It seems to be pretty accurate but I have my doubts from time to time. Itd be great to get some hard facts on my yardages then compare them to this monitor. My biggest complaint currently.. And its a pretty big one. To the point where ive been considering returning the monitor. It drains the ever living piss out of your mobile device that is being used with the monitor. We are talking from a full charge down to 100% dead and off in about a 30 minute period. Maybe even less. I have an iphone and it has no battery issues. To go to the range, hit a large bucket and collect the data and then not be able to move on with the rest of your day without having to do a complete recharge of your phone is very annoying. Which brings up my question to other consumers and hopefully even to a Rapsodo representative... do other consumers experience this same problem and to Rapsodo, is this something that can somehow be fixed with an update? Thats my warning to future buyers. Be prepared that it will destroy a fully charged device. Seems like a person needs to have a second device that they only use with the monitor. Which isn't a fair ask.
Directions of the ball flight is not accurate. This is inaccurate to say the least. The direction of the ball flight is consistent which I know I don’t do when I’m hitting the ball on the driving range.
