Pros & Cons

Pros

Good buy and decent price. I purchased this last minute for a camping trip and wasn't expecting much for the price, but overall it surpassed my expectation. The fan only lasted two and a half nights (about 20 hours) on the high setting, but it lasted longer than the description said it would. The light was nice and bright and lit up my whole tent. On the low setting, the fan only created a faint breeze, but on the high setting I could feel the air on my face from 6-7 feet away. Having two hinges made it easy to point the fan and light in separate directions and overall I was happier with it than I thought I'd be.

Worked Great for a 2 Person Tent, Would Recommend. I went camping this week and I just hate when it's sooooo darn hot in the tent and of course, there's no place to put a fan AND a light. This one worked perfectly. It hung by it's built in hook to the top of the tent, the light was just right and the fan was quiet and effective for a 2 person tent. Happy I bought it.

Nice!! I used this camping at the faster horses music festival and it was so nice to have!!! The light is great. Lite up my whole tent. The fan has two settings, low and high. I had it on high every night and it really makes a difference. I have a 3 person tent. It takes 6 D batteries and I used it all night for 4 nights and accidentally had it on the whole 3 hours home in my bag and the batteries are still working. I didn't use the light very long. Love the it just hooks easily. Had it hooked in the top of my tent above me. Love this fan.

I wish I had bought two of them! I live in my minivan full time, and in Georgia, it's hot and humid. I used the van last night, hanging it next to my side window which was cracked open about an inch, in order to draw in cooler air from the outside. It hung from the grab bar over my bed, with the fan aimed toward my pillow. I was very pleased that immediately, the fan provided the refreshing cool air I needed inside the van. I am also pleased that it only requires two D-batteries. I have an O2Cool 10" fan, and it doesn't provide nearly the coolness I need, plus it requires 6 D-batteries and they only last two days tops. I don't know yet how long the Odoland fan will run before the batteries need changing. I didn't buy it for the lamp but for the fan. The lamp does work well, though. And I am so pleased that it hangs from my ceiling. The only improvement would be for it to be solar powered. I wish I could afford a second one--maybe next month.

Love the utility use of this product. Love the utility use of this product. Feels plasticy but for the price it does what it says. Its powered by 2 D cell batteries and is very light weight which is a definite plus. I definitely recommend getting one for its price and use. Pros: LED light (bright enough for camping/working on vehicles/brown outs) Has a fan (2 modes low/high) Light angle is adjustable(swivels) Unit has a hook to place on a line/rope Light weight 2 D cells(instead of AA/AAA) Cons: 2D cells(would if been nice to have come with, hey a guy can dream) Feels cheap(almost like a toy)

Totally worth it if you are tent camping even the dog loves it. I have used it last two nights and now as we speak its awesome even on the sun side of a mountain in utah same set of batteries

Cons

Garbage. I opened the box. I put in new batteries. The light wont turn on. The fan works... so that's nice when its 28 degrees outside and you just want to go to sleep. Thankfully I live by "Two is one and one is none" so my Streamlight Stinger swooped in to save the day. Do not buy, cheaply made, flimsy and will fail you when you need it the most. A regular lantern or even a regular flash light aimed at the top of the tent is worth the extra money when you NEED to have light.

Make sure you get D batteries. The Fan/Light is not labeled at all. I don’t know if this light-fan works great or not. My disappointment with this product is probably more user error, however, I wish it had come with some sort of note/paper listing the battery type. It’s not printed anywhere. I accidentally bought C3 batteries instead of D batteries. The C3 were the biggest on the shelf, nd all I knew was that it took “big” batteries. So I bought the biggest available. Once I got to the campsite realized the ones I bought were still too small. Doh! “D” size is what it takes. I’m sure it’s fine, but absolutely no labeling on the product or packaging led to me not being able to use it while camping. Oh well. It’s probably a fine light/fan. I guess I’ll figure it out next time I go camping. Just a little annoying that it’s not clearly marked as to what kind of friggin’ batteries it takes.

Weak fan and bulky. This fan is kinda bulky for those packing light. It's convenient for the ring light to rotate and prop the fan at different angles. The light is decent and probably the only thing I'll ever use it for. When testing the fan at home, I was impressed with the strength. Now that I am actually camping, this fan is completely useless at creating any airflow inside the tent. While the fan can be propped and used as a personal fan, it is advertised and a hanging tent fan/light combo which is what drew me to it in the first place along with the thousands of positive reviews. I am disappointed in this fan and am really glad I brought a backup.

Good for tent light. Bought it 2017 for memorial day weekend camping trip and it worked fine. Since it was not hot, fan power seems to be adequate. LED light was bright enough to light the 6 person dome tent. Since that this item set in the storage box and it wasn’t until 2020 July we got to use it again. When I try yo use it again, I noticed battery compartment warped and it would not stay closed and hold the battery in place. I had to close the top cover to force push the battery cover in order to hold the battery in place. Its little annoying but works nevertheless. In hot southern summer heat, the fan’s air merely provided any cooling and we ended up not even bother using the fan. LED light was still good and provided ample lighting we needed. Battery was never replaced since initial placement in 2017 and is still going.

Disappointed. Bought for camping and with as large of batteries as it need I was extremely disappointed in its life span… drains batteries fast… did not use for a very long period and it still died. Thought it was a mistake and put new batteries in it and same happened. Would NOT waste your money honestly! The brightness was good and Fan did let off good amount of air. But if you can’t use it for very long what’s the point

Awful. Cheapest plastic and came broken. Camping gear typically needs to be a bit more rugged; this is NOT! It is made from fragile and brittle plastic. The fan spins, but the air movement is small and incredibly loud given the tiny fan. With the 2 D batteries it is also kinda heavy to hang from a tent. You can actually hear the fans slow down when the lights are on. You can move the direction of the fan/light, but the cracking cheap sound it makes while doing tells me that you won't be doing it more than a few times before it breaks. The light cover on one of the lights was broken when it arrived, as the packing is horrible. Thin bubble wrap that I think was already popped? Maybe by someone stomping mad after realizing the mistake in purchasing this item. I would not recommend this product to anyone at this price. Maybe $5 value...maybe.
