I feel lucky to have chosen this scooter. It is reasonably priced for a scooter that will work for adults. It has a great battery. It zips along at a legit 19 mph I bought two scooters for my two daughters, 11 & 13. I did not know if they were old enough, but this was the most brilliant Christmas gift I could have given them. Not only do they love them, but they will also enjoy them for years to come. We have exceeded the recommended weight limit riding together on a scooter and did not lose any speed. I have even borrowed them to run errands. They zip along at 19 mph and can be slowed down to 13 mph by turning off the sport mode. This scooter works for getting around town and we have had fun in a large parking lot down the street. I have not yet used the app, but this was an attractive feature that helped make my decision. I want to be able to lock it up. You will be happy with your purchase.
This scooter is awesome and customer service from HiBoy is unmatched. People giving this scooter a 1 star review have no idea what else is out there. This is the 3rd scooter I have bought and I won’t every buy any other brand than HiBoy. The scooter is amazingly solid and reliable. I ride this thing 3-6 miles a day and it’s been such a nice thing to have. Everything works as intended and even has enough power to carry me (230 pounds) uphills without issue. This scooter does everything you would need it too without an issue. I rode my scooter hard in rough terrain as well and have never had any problems with the frame or welding. The best part about this company though is their customer service. I had an issue with my HiBoy that was caused by me riding it aggressively and the company sent me out a replacement part for free. Not only was the resolution awesome but there communication and attentiveness was something that I RARELY see ever from an independent shop let alone a big brand like HiBoy. Listen is your on the fence about buying this scooter let me give you a nudge. This scooter is amazing. Goes a true 19mph, I get about 11 miles out of my battery with being a bigger guy and the companies customer service is hands down! I have the S2 model not the S2 pro and I have had no issue with hills or power. This thing just works! I cannot stress enough how well the customer service is. I’m serious. HiBoy takes customer service serious and tries to make things better for you immediately. Mind you. My issue was my fault and they still sent me out replacement parts well before I even tried to ask for one. HiBoy, stay being awesome. You guys rock!
High quality, does it's job. Bought this for my son at college as an alternative to a parking permit. He rides from the dorm to his classes and never has to move his car. I'm a big guy, 275lbs, I put it together and rode it around the neighborhood, ya know, to make sure it worked , before we took it down to our kid. It was a ton of fun and it moved me around with no issue. Has a built in odometer, I got up to 19mph and I exceed the weight limit! Only catch, I thought it was broken when I first got on. It will only "go" once you push off and are traveling at 3mph+. It doesn't take off from a dead stop. My son says he only needs to chargenit every few days too. I'd definitely buy this scoot again.
Great for commuting, very durable. I've been using it for a few weeks now, to commute to work and back every day, which is about 1.5 miles for me. I usually have it on sports mode, and I've been able to get 20 mph consistently rocketing through the bike lane and it only gets down to half-battery after 4 or 5 days of driving that commute, plus the occasional stop to a fast food place for lunch. A few days ago, I had a rather minor accident with a car downtown, and despite all my roadrash, it's no worse for wear whatsoever, I'm still taking it to and from work as my main mode of transportation. The only real downside is that I'm too nervous to lock it up outside of a shop anywhere, so when I go shopping I end up bringing it in with me, putting it in the cart or just walking it if I only need a few things.
Great scooter, exactly what I was looking for. I bought this scooter to get around from class to class at my university. Been using it for a few months now and it still works great. It reaches the top speed of 19mph (may top out at 17 or 18mph if the terrain is not completely flat or downhill at 190lbs) and the max speed may fall off as the battery gets low but I usually make it to class and back at more than 60% battery life left. I can't speak on the exact range but from what I have seen it is around what they claim but it all depends on weight and terrain. The only thing I would say is don't plan on carrying it far distances while it's folded because, in my opinion, it gets really heavy really quickly
My kids and I love it! I like the fact you can lock it by way of cell phone app! I also like the fold up feature to save room in my apt! I also like that it has economy and sport modes to save battery or go fast? The red running lights are great for night visibility and the headlight is VERY bright!Great buy, so far very happy! Will get a lot more use this summer at many baseball tournaments for the kids to run to the snack bar etc!
Cons
Having trouble with the battery and not getting the range hoped for. Overall I really love this scooter! It is very solid and smooth and more forgiving to the bumps than I was expecting given the solid tires. I think the selected tire design does add some cushion as does the rear shock. My problem is that the battery only holds out for the first 7.5 miles before dropping in voltage and current. The current limit affects acceleration initially more than top speed, but eventually the speed drops off as well, especially into the wind or up a small incline. Anyone who has read some of the reviews probably understands that it is not realistic to get 17 miles on one charge as Hiboy claims is the best case. Perhaps on flat roads and at a slower speed this is possible, but I had tempered my expectations to get perhaps 12 miles from a single charge. However, the first charge from full lasted only about 5 miles before the "drop off" and I had to limp home at speeds down to 10mph on my first ride. I charged it overnight and it only got up to 91%. Not necessarily an issue for my expectations. Although today I found it worked a little better, unfortunately I could only make it 7.5 miles and the battery was below 20% by 8 or 9 miles. I am riding on flat roads, no hills, and I am seeing this behavior in its brand-new state. This isn't going to get me to my minimum goal of 12-mile range, so sadly I think I need to return this scooter. The two photos show the stats for my ride after a full charge (accepting 91% before charger shut off) and the battery is down in the red, 20%, zone after 9 miles on the flats. This is my only issue with this scooter and I really like the other features and solid ride without rattling or motor noise. But this is a serious enough issue for me, so I needed to return it. I looked at the Pro version, but am concerned about the overstated range specs enough to try a different manufacturer to go with.
3-star review. This is a great scooter is very fun to use. It goes fast, the battery lasts for a while and it’s very convenient. The reason why I am giving it 3 stars is because I just had it for a week and my scooter is not charging!!!! I JUST HAD IT FOR A WEEK!!!! When the scooter is charging the light turns red and when the battery is fully charged, it turns green. Mine it’s always green.
It never worked. I received the scooter and it doesn’t work. It turns on but does not move. I contacted customer service and they’re out of office for a month. What a waste of money and peoples time. I recommend buying another brand. This one is useless.
don't buy. this is the second scooter i got. i had segway ninebot E2 that broke. Hiboy is quieter than segway but that is the only good thing about it. it is very hard to maneuver. even in the flattest road you feel going up and down on the scooter. the point of contact of the wheels to the ground is so narrow. with the slightest bump you may fall.
It doesn't work. It arrived, I assembled it, it powered on successfully, I charged it, the electronics all worked (lights etc), the Bluetooth connected. I got on, pressed the accelerator, nothing happened. At all. No noise, no movement, nothing. I sent an email and haven't heard anything.
Safty. I bought this scooter for my friend. During 3 weeks he felt twice and the second time he broke his arm. I am not sure if it was his fault or something is wrong with the scooter functioning. As he said he drove over a stick and than he got out of control and felt.
