watch out for battery sticker. I took mine out of the package and installed the batteries as described in the picture on the sticker in the battery tube. Didnt look right, figured it was the other way around, but heck, the sticker said so....well after a few minutes of it not turning on, the handle started getting hot and the display screen started to go black in the bottom right hand corner. I took the batteries out and let the thing cool down thiking it was screwed up and I would send it back. After about 5 minutes the screen went back to normal/silver/grey. I placed the batteries in the way I thought they schould go in and walla...it worked....??? Bottom line, place the batteries with the nipple down towards the inside of the gun. My rating so far is a 5, but the battery sticker brings it down one. I am still debating if to sent it back and get another just because I am worried mine might have took some abuse internally because they improperly placed the sticker upside down in my gun. But here is what I found using it.... I bought it for my 10 year old son who is a little league champ and allstar. He throws hard, we wanted to know how hard. Plus I can use it to coax him into throwing his hardest by teasing him with the results....and I can use it to scout kids for draft tryouts. I found even after the battery debackle the gun worked great. I sat on my bucket glove in one hand, gun in another, he was up on the regulation hill, he threw, I pulled the trigger, it gave me a speed that looked very right to what I was seeing. I figured my boy would throw 45-50mph he topped out at 49mph on the gun. There was twice where it gave me a speed of 17mph, when I knew he has thrown about 45mph. I am unsure if it was because of the battery issue or because I didnt have it aimed right, or if it is a quirk? Overall 95% of his pitches looked correct. I like the gun, the price and the things it has proved so far in its 1st day of use. I likely will return mine and get another so watch out for the battery sticker...otherwise cool stuff maynard!!!

Beginner Gun. Understand what this gun is before you purchase it. If you're looking for a radar that you can sit 30 rows up at a showcase and clock accurate numbers with, this is NOT your gun. This is not a gun for a pro scout, or someone who requires chronograph level accuracy. That being said, for 90 dollars, it gets the job done. As an owner of both this and a Pocket Radar Ball Coach, I can confirm that this gun is +/- 3mph with the Pocket Radar, under the condition that it is aimed precisely. The range is short, but if you can stand directly behind a pitcher, angling slightly downhill on the ball's plane, you will get an accurate reading much of the time. When you miss, you'll know as the reading will be well off. Hitting wise is where you will encounter the most issues. If you're trying to measure ball exit speed of a tee, you need to get on a knee, and aim the gun slightly up, so that the gun will be in line with where the ball will be hit. The battery lasts a long time, and there is no interface to learn, just point and pull the trigger. The gun is sturdy, and doesn't feel like you'll break it if you hold it wrong. All in all it's an excellent starting gun, and if you're buying this for your travel team, personal use, or just for fun, it will get the job done.
Good Quality for the price. I purchased this radar gun to use at Railroad Park in my hometown. Have always wondered how fast the trains going when they went thru town. I used it this morning for the first time. I was easy to use. Cannot confirm accuracy but it looked close. One thing I noticed is when I pointed it thru the windshield it did not want to work. I figured it was the UV protection there. Side windows were ok. So I think I'm going to enjoy this new toy.

Not up to expectation. I purchased this item to check the speeds of cars and trucks, zooming past my front yard. Although the price is good, and accuracy seems about right, more difficult to use than had hoped. When purchasing the item, "i thought," should I not be satisfied, AMAZON would easily and smoothly return/credit my purchase. NOT SO! BE SURE if you purchase this item, it is exactly what you want and need. AMAZON WILL NOT ACCEPT A RETURN ON THIS ITEM. Had I known this, at the time of purchase, perhaps I would not have bought in the first place
Warranty is NOT 2 years as stated in product description! Review ratings ACCURACY refers to the Warranty confusion. It is not 2 years. It would have been nice if the product description was accurate and honest. Product Description CLEARLY states Warranty is 2 years. Literature, as can be seen in the pic, states a “One Year Limited Warranty”.
Not bad but speed is not accurate at all. I bought this gun to do my clubs radar runs. The ease of use is amazing, point and click, my issue is its way off speed wise. No real way to calibrate it that I've found. We had a retired police officer at our event and he even directed us how to use it and when we did it was still off by 15-20mph.
Bought this to record Softball (fastpitch) speeds. Variability is a little bit too off in my opinion. Adding anywhere from 4-10mph is typically what's needed. We took it to our local D-Bat which has a radar velocity area. The Bushnell was always 4-6mph under no matter what, but randomly would miss under by up to 10-12mph.
Doesn't really work. We never could get this to work.
Hard to use for tennis. Bought this for tennis. Read the manual and watched all the videos. Unfortunately from every angle it was getting confused between the metal racquet itself and the ball… maybe other sports will be better. Great refund policy.
