Saved my bike in a thievery attempt. Great U Lock. I use this multiple times a day to lock my bike at college. Last night, someone tried to break the lock by bashing it, leaving it pretty bent, but the bike was safe and not able to be stolen. This lock saved my bike.
Bike hasn't been stolen. I've been using this for over a year and everything has stayed safe. I leave it locked to a rack outside overnight and it has been in multiple thunderstorms, freezing rain, and extreme cold and it still works perfectly. (I did add some graphite lubricant once.) I like that the cable allows me to hold both wheels. Highly recommended.
Great lock stopped theft. This bike thief tried everything. They tried a bolt cutter which did little but make a dent. They tried prying and bending. They bent so hard, the bike frame was dented, and the front rim was ruined. My bike, however, was still securely attached to the street sign I locked it to you. The actual, locking mechanism was still perfectly functional, although the U needed to be bent back to fit in again (Photo is AFTER I did my best to bend it back into shape). I was incredibly lucky and found a replacement U on the ground, it was identical, down to the rubberized coating. I simply moved the mounting hardware from the old bend, peace, onto the replacement. I highly recommend this lock!

Duplicate Keys are Expensive. I ordered this lock recently and have used it several times and overall I am satisfied with its performance. However, I wanted to get a duplicate key since several of us in the family are using the same bike. I registered the key at the website and wanted to get some duplicate keys. They come in a pack of 3 duplicate keys. At their website they state: "...Replacement keys are free excluding shipping...Available shipping options: Standard International Shipping (60 Days) = $24.96USD...DHL International Express Shipping (45 Days) = $49.96USD..." Those prices are a bit steep to send three keys especial when they have a Flushing, NY address. And to take two months to ship seems a bit long as well. So I assume that the keys are coming from the EU, but that still seems a bit steep to mail such a small item. I cannot see why since they have so many customers in the USA that they can't have them ship from the US to save a great deal of shipping costs to their many customers. Or....I'm wondering if these keys can be duplicated at a key shop or location near me to save shipping? Moral of the story....don't lose these keys!

Works well, but starts to wear down. I've had my lock for two years now. Overall it's worked well, but I did have to get a replacement (free of charge) because the key mechanism kept getting stuck (maybe I could have, as other suggested, simply applied some WD-40, but support didn't suggest that and I didn't have any around to try). But they sent me a new one for free. The lock is working great now, but the mount that attaches it to the bike leaves a bit to be desired. I don't think it's the highest quality plastic (or at least hard enough), as I think it's worn down over the years. Now the lock routinely falls out of the mount when I hit bumps (as in every few times I hit a good bump, like a hopping off a curb). Fortunately I have a new mount as part of my replacement lock set (I didn't change the mount when I got the new lock), so hopefully that will last another couple of years. Overall, the lock has worked well, but there is some room for improvement in terms of overall durability and reliability.

Great lock, but the mounting bracket broke. I've actually used this lock for over a year, but I've had trouble taking the lock off the mounting bracket. After the first year, it would not unlock with either of the keys, so I emailed the company about warranty repair. They quickly emailed me back and said they would send me a new one. Been over a month now with no further contact or emails, even when I asked if the new one was shipped. Not cool.
Hard to Lock/Unlock, Mechanism Fails in Humidity. I really liked the lock for the first few months. The initial lock/unlock mechanism was a little difficult to figure out and manage with lining up the pieces at first. My bike looked and felt secure. But after a couple good rain storms, the lock mechanism itself is failing. I think it may have jammed on both sides and it’s now extremely hard to lock/unlock. I wanted to return it, but the return window has been closed for several months. For a decently expensive lock, it should be able to handle a little rain. I’m sad to say I won’t be buying this brand again when I eventually have to break the lock off my bike.
