Pros

Everything the Bissel Crosswave isn’t. I’ve had a Bissell Crosswave for years. I did like the convenience of mopping and vacuuming all at once, but the hassle of grabbing it and plugging it in, and then cleaning it out by pouring water into the tray myself each time was a huge turn off. So much so that I didn’t use it as much as I wanted because I didn’t want to deal with all the hassle. Then came the Tineco… First off, it seems to clean much better than the Bissell. My floors are noticeably shinier, and it detected that my floor was extra dirty right where my dog always lays… and that has been recently mopped by the Bissell. Best of all though, the fact that it recharges and *actually* self cleans makes it perfect. I was worried when it said “self clean” that it meant I would still have to pour water in the tray like with the Bissell. Not the case… it sprays water from its clean water tank and runs through an automated cycle cleaning the brush roll and all inner compartments completely on its own. I simply press a button and walk away. Literal perfection, especially if you’re a busy mum like me.

Buy it. I am an old man living by myself and have an ill gotten reputation for not mopping enough. Not so fast pilgrim. Got this yesterday, charged it overnight, used it this morning and now I dare negative comments from my grand daughters impinging my housekeeping skills. I admit I did not have a high bar to meet but this thing is is spectacular. I almost look forward to using it again. I have a Tineco vacuum cleaner which also works great but you still have to drag out a mop to clean my entirely tiled house, no more. If you doubt how well it works just wait until you empty the wastewater tank, not for the faint of heart but it is scary to think I was walking around the house with that much dirt and dog hair. The self cleaning mode is the cherry on top. It even has voice notifications to let you know what to, just like my ex-wife but nicer, a lot nicer. My only concern is the fact it does not have a replaceable battery. My Tineco vacuum has an extra battery that charge’s on the wall holder. I do not know how many cycles the power mop will handle but I will cross that bridge later. In the meantime, I will keep my floors clean and have a pleasant conversation with the nice lady in the power mop.

Twin sized messes! and it worked great!!! On all floors and all sorts of messes. The media could not be loaded. We bought this for our house which has hardwood floors and tile intermixed and 3 yo twins. I was skeptical because we have had a dyson, and lg and none of the were amazing. This one does it all. We did our first big cleaning after Halloween it cleaned up feathers, chips, and all sorts of other party dirt. I didn’t have to pre sweep like a lot of my other vacuums to get the tough corner spots. And was able to do our whole downstairs which is big. It definitely cut cleaning time and was dry immediately, big pro vs mopping! I am a happy buyer!

So impressed. This is one of the best engineered products that I have purchased in years. Many of the competitor models try to do many surfaces with one machine and thus fail to to a good job on any of them. This machine is specifically made to clean hard surfaces. I use it on a very expensive hardwood floor. I simply load it up as instructed and it just works. The floor is almost instantly dry to the point that need to look for clean vs dirty floor to see where I have been. This thing brought my floor back to life. I had forgotten how pretty it was. I have used it 3 times and have been amazed at the amount of dirt this thing picks up. The self cleaning system works! Just trade in the extra brush and put the current one in the holder to dry. The filters and plumbing do not clog and are very accessible if they do. Simple to clean and fill. I suggest watching the videos on this or go for the more expansive pro model that graphically walks you through how to do everything. Very pleased with this. Showed this to guests at a small party and I am sure they bought one for themselves. This is NOT for Carpets. This is to floors what a microwave was to heating water. Gotta have one.

Great for hardwoods. The vacuum mop combo is a great option for hardwoods. It’s light weight, can sense how dirty the floor is and has a self cleaning feature. I did think that 4-5hrs to charge was a long time but now that I’ve used it several times that’s not an issue as it seems that’s really on first charge out of the box.

Works great. I’ve got a dog and cat. The dog dribbles all over the floor when he drinks water. When we come in from walking outside he tracks in snow, sand and dirt. This really is easy to use. I like the fact that is is self propelled! Makes it very easy to move around without a cord! It also lets you know where it is still dirty with a color coded display. It also is somewhat self cleaning. It cleans the roller pretty well so you don’t have to do that. You do have to take it apart to clean the tanks and filters, but it’s not that hard to do. I’m glad I decided to buy this one instead of another.

Cons

Disappointed - Does not clean well. I was going to order an older model for less price but decided to spend the extra $ to get this new model. I liked some of the features this new model has, such as larger capacity, better access to clean edges, etc. The cleaner is ok, not too heavy and not too loud. I thought it did a decent job (water was dirty) until I went over the 'just cleaned floor' with my old mop (ones with refillable pads that costs $15). I was very surprised when the pad was quite dirty. I should preface by saying my floor is not very dirty to begin with. We do not wear shoes in the house and have no children nor pets tracking dirt in. I am disappointing and will not be keeping such expensive machine that doesn't clean well.

Don't waste your money! The media could not be loaded. The Tineco Floor ONE S5 was not a cheap or an impulsive purchase. I took my time asking friends for recommendations and researching which cleaner would do what I needed and reasonably priced. Tineco makes several different styles/models cleaner that does the same basic job. The main exception to this one and WHY I chose to spend over ONE HUNDRED dollars more than the model below it, is because of their advertised edge cleaning advantage against walls. The machine is advertised and includes a video with the product images, showing that it cleans the floor within one centimeter of the wall or object. THIS IS A LIE AND FALSE ADVERTISING! I have never spent this kind of money on any type of cleaner like this. The fact that it did not do as it was advertised is unacceptable. There were several inserts in the box and packaging that said to reach out to Tineco directly with any issues instead of the seller, so that is what I did. I called and spoke to a representative who told me to send a video showing that the machine was not cleaning within 1 cm to the edge, which I did (I've also included it with my review here). After several days of waiting, they emailed me back and apologized for the issue, then offered me a $20 gift card for bringing the problem to their attention. Also, I had to turn the machine on max power, for it to do a decent job on cleaning my floors. Absolute poor quality and EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE machine with even worse customer service! SAVE YOUR MONEY!!

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME. I WOULD NOT get this. I have very dark floors and the sun hits them every day. The battery life is awful. I have a 1300sqft house and the battery gets down to 10% sometimes dies before I can finish, I have to refill the water 3-5 times depending, doesn’t pick up all dog hair just blows it around, doesn’t clean the floors spotless, and I have to change the dirty water tank 3-4 times when it’s not even half way full. I bought this in hoping it would make my life a little bit easier, but unfortunately I just have to go behind it with my vacuum and mop. For an almost $500 vacuum I definitely expected better.

Worst purchase ever. I got this after seeing every TikTok video say how good it was. within the first day I knew it was not going to be great as the battery life wouldn’t allow me to get through my 1400 square foot home but I wanted to love it. Fast forward to 40 days later, this machine shoots black dirty water across my floor and randomly cuts off. Customer Service will refund me 85% minus an additional restocking fee and no taxes on what I purchased this for on January 7th. Hard pass on a Tineco product in the future.

Customer Service is Zero When You Have a Problem. Update to original review: After using it for about a month, I used it as usual. Plugged it in to charge. It appeared to be charging but the numbers just did not go up. I contacted support on Jan 4, and kept getting different emails from them asking for a 10 second video to prove it was not charging. Have they used this thing? It does not go up in charging percentage fast. it needs 4 hrs to charge so why even ask for a video that won't show them any more than I'm telling them. So they went back and forth with me from the 4th to the 16th and THEN They tell me this: "According to your information, the machine was not purchased from our official website store. Therefore, we could not do the refund for you and repair." So what good is a warranty if they won't honor it unless I buy it on their website? This makes zero sense. At this point I have a $500 paper weight! You can disregard the rest of my review as it was my initial impression before this thing bit the dust I have been using this for a few days and I love it. I like to try new cleaning tools so when I saw this I had to have it. I previously had another machine that was similar but it had to be plugged in, and it was sort of heavy and a pain to get out. I wanted something that would be easier to use so that I would be more inclined to actually use it. This unit fits the bill for me. I got rid of all my spray mops and spin mops and my big heavy cleaner because this does it all, and it's cordless. I use this mainly on my hardwood floors which are my foyer, and hallways downstairs, plus my big kitchen, mudroom, bathroom and sunroom. I have tile in my laundry room but it's sort of textured and it really did not seem to do much on that. I think this does better on flat surfaces. This puts water down but it much spray out on the brush roll because it does not use a lot...in other words my floor is not soaked with water, it washes and sucks up the water all in one sweep. I don't have to lift up the brush roll to suck up all the water. Also it works automatically and I don't have to press a button to spray the water or anything. It's a no brainer. You have a high setting and an auto setting. Simple! When you are done cleaning you put it on the charging base and perform a cleaning cycle so it keeps the inside of the machine clean. While it says the machine is self cleaning, you are not done after you do the self clean. You then have to remove the brush roll and there is some dirt in the crevices under the piece that covers the brush roll. I wipe that off with a paper towel and then rinse the brush roll. The clean cycle really does a good job of cleaning the brush roll though because while there might be a hair or lint on the roll, when I rinsed it out in my white sink there is no dirty water running from it. There are two brush rolls so I could put a fresh dry one on and then there is a little tray to put the other one to dry. The brush roll pulls off easily and seems to stay in places with a magnet as well as the cover that covers the roll. It's super easy though to take apart and I did not even have to read the instructions. The top has a ring that goes from red to blue to show you when it's clean. My floors rarely showed any red because I do not have huge messes but it still pulled out tons of dirt and debris. My floors have little spaces between some of the boards and this thing must be pulling the lint and dirt out of there because I saw tons of stuff in the dirty water tank even though my floors do not have any visible dirt on them. I feel like it's getting stuck on dirt and the best part is that it leaves my floor barely damp. This floor washer talks to you which is nice. It's not completely necessary but I like it. You can turn that feature off if you don't like it. One thing I like that I guess is new compared to older models is that it has one edge that cleans right up to the baseboards. I've also noticed if you go up to an edge with the front of it that it cleans right up to the edge and will grab any dust bunnies that might be hanging around. I love the soft brush roll because it's gentle on my wood and won't scratch it, but wish they would add a special roll that might work better on uneven tile and get into deeper grout lines. This is great for flat hardwood floors but do not think it will get into grout. When I tried it in the laundry room as I mentioned it did not seem like the brush roll was making contact much. It's not a big deal because my laundry room is small and I just bought this for the hardwood floors, but still it would be nice to have the option. The dirty water tank could be easier to clean. There is a filter for the air and then a sort of screen inside. You can pull the top off but all those pieces are separate and while functional it could be easier to use. The clean water tank is well designed and easy to fill although I did spill the cleaner the first time. It comes with a cap that you fill and add to the tank but the opening is small so it's easy to splash or miss. Maybe it could use a funnel to make it easier to fill. Still it's not hard to use, once you get the hang of it. One thing that I felt was silly was the wifi function. I can not understand the point of the wifi, I did try to connect it but think it was too far from my router and it would not connect. I did not bother further with it because I'm not sure why I need it. I did not see any value as I'm not going to be using an app while washing my floors. It's not like it's a robot so to me this feature is overkill and probably is costly and I'd rather they lower the price and leave this off... Overall I love this. It does the job of my spin mop, my big floor cleaner and every spray mop and hardly takes up much room. It has a long enough cord that I can keep it in my front hall closet and the thin cord can go out under the door and plug in next to the closet where I have an outlet. Thanks for reading my review

Amended review: it’s a swell mop replacement. My original review was under the impression that this product is for “deep cleaning”. It’s not. It’s for everyday quick cleanup. You have to start with a *very* clean floor. And for that, it’s pretty useful- it’ll replace your mop. It’s basically a vacuum with some light water dispensing. It won’t get every spot or stuck-on food. It won’t clean large wooden floors in one charge or tank. You have to figure out your workflow and use it appropriately. From what I’ve seen, I don’t think the ultra mode is worth using. However, perhaps the mechanism aids in self-cleaning. Pros: * replaces your mop and kitchen vacuuming in one simple appliance * cordless * app is fairly nice (though as an app dev I think they could do a little better and I have some concerns about the security) * charging station does self-cleaning * very aware of its need to be cleaned and communicates that. All maintenance is communicated clearly. * my original review got customer support’s attention (even though I don’t think they can help me, since the product isn’t really what I was expecting) Cons: * Voice is super annoying and should be easier to turn off outside the app * it’s a bit needy if you’re doing a large, moderately dirty floor * No swappable batteries / can’t charge and use at same time * won’t clean sticky or gooey spots easily, if at all * They need an English speaking copy editor for their materials and app. There’s some weird and confusing wording - not the worst, but it’s unnecessarily unpolished and ambiguous. Overall, this will save you time and that’s great. But don’t expect miracles. I expect all the Tineco models to be about the same so the added perks (especially of this pro 2) are debatably useful.
