Why spend more for the name brand filters? I've used Brita pitchers for years, and bought their name brand filters because I thought the cheap knock-offs wouldn't work. These work. This is my second order, and I'm kicking myself for spending all that money on Brita filters for so long. You pay for the name. Well, I don't care about the name as long as the product does the job. I wouldn't be surprised if these are the very same filters Brita sells. It's well known that a lot of things are made by one supplier that just sticks a different label on them depending on what company they're contracted to. My Dad worked for one such supplier, so I know it's true. That's why I happily buy store brands in favor of the same product under a commercial label. Nine times out of ten, you can't tell the difference. Because there is no difference. Anyway, trust me, if you use Brita pitchers you can rest assured, these filters will work just fine. Change the filter every two months, as recommended, and one box of these will last you a whole year. At roughly three or four bucks a month for clean, filtered water, that's quite a bargain.

A knock-off that works. I had my suspicions about using a generic knock-off for Brita. I usually feel more confident in using the original. But Brita is going up, up, up in price, so I tried this one. I can't review it for the length of time it lasts, because I've just begun using these, but the readings on total dissolved solids coming out of this filter seem almost identical to those produced by original Brita. And I saved considerably, which was the point. The seal encircling the filter top-- to seal it from leakage around the filter-- is a bit weak and of lesser quality than Brita, but it's worked so far.

Rinse these for a couple of minutes before use. Small bits of charcoal will flush out so rinse these for a couple of minutes first. I probably won't uy these again. The water rushes out much faster than with my previous brand. This, combined with the long rinse time required before the water runs clear, has made me suspicious of how effective it might be.

Same as actual brita. We have 2 Brita in our fridge at all times . These worked great . Price was great .

Cons

Not what i HOPED FOR. We Live in Pacific NW and have a spring fed water system in our community. That said I still used a Brita Filter as a backup. When we needed to replace we tried these. I did the prep as recommended and actually cleaned the whole container. When I pour water through it sounds like it goes through fast until the bottom of the filter is under water ; which seemed odd, I had not noticed that with Brita FIlters. So I did a comparison using a TDS EZ to sample the water. Then I compared with our daughter that lives close by and is on the same community water system but they have an RO system. The TDS rates water 0 - 50 as Ideal (RO , Distillation) 50 - 100 (carbon filter, aquafiers, mountain springs - what we have) 100- 200 Hard Water, 200 - 300 Marginally Acceptable... So results were Tap Water was .. Mine 82 Daughter 78, Daughter RO 20. Our Brita/ Aqua Crest 140. So we will not buy Aqua Crest again .

Filter stops working and gets choked in 10 days. It's been almost 3 months I bought these replacement filters. The first one lasted for 12 days and then I went for vacation for 2 months thinking there might have been some issue. I came back and same thing happens with all the filters that after 8-10 days they get choked and starts spurting out some black particles. Every time you'll have to take the filter out rinse it with water. It has been the nightmare to use them. I would recommend not to buy.

It’s alright. These aren’t better than the original Brita filters. Leaves a decent amount of charcoal residue behind and you can taste a difference. It’s good in a pinch but I would rather just pay the difference for Brita filters.

Some water leaks. Cheaper option but the water doesn't taste as good as the original filters and the filter does not seem to fir perfectly as some water seems to be leaking from the sides. Will still use this as this is a cheaper option compared to the original.

Will buy again. No need to buy name brand filter.Fit both of my water pitchers.
