8 Months of Daily Use Review. These are amazing! I do about 2-3 loads of laundry a day. I love these! Back in 12/18 I bought a 6pk of Smart Sheep Dryer balls and a 6pk of Dryer balls from another brand. I wasn’t sure what to expect, and I’m amazed. They are all used together for drying my laundry. After 8 months of use, I still have all 6 Smart Sheep Dryer balls (they are holding up, no unraveling like the other brand, smell pleasant, are keeping their shape, etc). I like them so much I bought them as gifts for other people. Out of the 6pk from the other brand I bought I am down to 2 dryer balls left- they all unraveled and became misshapen. The pictures I’m adding don’t lie! These Smart Sheep ones are fabulous! I use them with Essential Oils as well to freshen stuff up. Highly recommended!!
If you’re to the point of looking at reviews, just add them to your cart. They’re worth it. I didn’t believe the hype of wool dryer balls but decided to give them a try since we’re planning to cloth diaper... so this is also without using liquid fabric softeners as well as dryer sheets. I prepped them according to the instructions and some advice from the Internet... and have been using them a couple months and they really do make a huge difference in drying time. I have a Maytag bravos XL washer and dryer, because we have a large family, so I use all six every dryer load, and I started using med heat instead of high, and our laundry still dries in less time, and though I can’t say how winter static is yet, so far I haven’t had ANY static issues. My favorite thing, is that jeans seem to thoroughly dry now (no more damp pockets!). I got some essential oil and put a couple drops on them about every other week, I just make sure to not use too much, and to allow it about an hour to absorb before using them because of reports of fire risks with some cheaper oils that might contain alcohol. You just have to figure out what scent works best for you, I figured out we like a combination of lavender, cedar wood, and tiny bit of sweet orange oil. Tip: if you’re just trying to get wrinkles out of something, you can dampen them just a bit and run a low heat cycle in the dryer, and they steam wrinkles out perfectly! It works great for picture-day shirts, and for getting the “new crease” out of tablecloths and curtains!
Great Natural Fabric Softening! I bought these dryer balls as a spur of the moment decision and have been very happy that I did. They are solid but soft and about the size of a large orange or small grapefruit. They are a permanent fixture in my dryer and have helped keep my laundry soft and unless I overload the dryer, they really do help reduce the dry time. I don't think they are as helpful in reducing dryer time for say, a queen/king size comforter because the dryer is simply too full for the dryer balls to bounce around much. Yes, they bounce around and do add some additional noise to the dryer cycle, but because they are soft, it's not like you've got a tennis shoe rattling around or anything, but it will be a little louder and you will hear them bumping around. An added and unexpected bonus is that these wool balls attract dog hair away from my clothing! On any given day, I have a minimum of 4 Samoyeds (very hairy white dogs) and 2 white-ish cats who are all dead set on depositing as much fur on my clothing as possible. So I know about hairy clothes! They don't leave my laundry fur-free but there is a noticeable reduction since I started using them. I have also added scented oils to the dryer balls with good success. While it's probably best to not use heat with essential oils, I wasn't using it as a therapeutic use, but more just to try out how well the scents would transfer. It works pretty good and I had scents last through multiple loads of laundry. Just be careful that the oils get absorbed well by the wool before drying or you'll be distributing actual oils onto your laundry and not just passing along the smell. Overall, I love these things. Just know that they can get all tied up in laundry and I "lost" one for a while because it was wrapped up inside a fitted sheet and I hadn't noticed it.

Worse than useless will ruin your clothes. I wish there was a zero stars option. I have given these 2 and a half weeks of use for a family of two adults. They do not get rid of static electricity. They leave gobs of white fuzz on all of your black clothing. A completely worthless money waster!!! And to make it worse Amazon will not allow me to return this product. So I am just out the money after 2 weeks. Does anyone else notice the major decline in customer service by Amazon? They used to stand behind products but now it is all buyer beware apparently!!!! I will be looking elsewhere to make purchases if I can't return products that are crap.
Good and Bad! Good and Bad! I have a lot of microfiber clothing and have always had a lot of static pulling them out of the dryer. Reducing static is the main reason I bought these. I never use fabric softener because that ruins the wicking capability of the microfiber. Now, think back to science experiments in school. You rub wool against against a balloon or acrylic rod to create static. The Bad: My belief is that the wool tumbling with microfiber (polyester) generates a bit more static than usual. The Good: Clothes do dry quicker and and seem to have less wrinkles. If your clothes are mostly cotton these may be golden. I'm sure that if you pull your clothes out of the dryer early, per instructions, when there is a slight bit of moisture content the static will be less. Moisture content will naturally keep static down anyway. If you can catch your clothing in that perfect state of not quite dry but dry enough then you may not need these if you are only concerned about static. I'm usually doing too many things around the house to catch clothes in the dryer at that perfect moment.
Excellent product at first only. I love these dryer balls. No more chemical softeners. I am happy with the product . I always used dryer sheets- so I was surprised to discover that static is not a problem. The balls are not as noisy as I feared and my clothes dry quicker. It is no longer a chore to evenly dry large items. Update August 2017 I used lavender essential oil on these and they were fine. But after extended use-the sheep smell became overwhelming. Lavendar essential oil did not work. I have switched to Georgia Alpaca balls. They work great and do not have an odor and I have used them for 4 months now. I just changed this review to a one star from a five star.
