Great Relief For Lower Back and Leg Pain. After using the flat top pillow one night for my lower legs, I could tell a difference for the better. It arrived promptly and was almost to the full height within a few hours. I wish I had bought it years ago. I will be taking it with me every time I travel and recommending it to friends. I bought the Sleepnitz wedge pillow for my upper torso. They work together well. I use it during the day on top of my bed or couch. Love it! Five stars!
Ever notice how hospitals keep beds propped up and not flat? This wedge pillow offers the best/healthiest way to sleep -- not lying flat! My husband was in the hospital recently and he kept flattening his bed and every time the nurses would raise it up. They said they had to keep his upper body elevated. They can't let you lay flat. There's a learning curve with this for sure, especially if you're not a back sleeper, but it is amazing how much better you feel sleeping this way. My husband's snoring has diminished substantially. I have to use one for GERD treatment and initially hated it but now I cart it with me when I travel. I know -- it's my wedge-of-shame like my dog's clown collar! And I don't care!
No more acid reflux & helped with snoring! This wedge pillow has been a game changer for me at night! I use my regular pillow on top of it so basically the wedge is an inclined mattress. I had been having terrible heartburn during the middle of the night and would have to use multiple pillows to try and prop myself up to help with it. One night I had a terrible episode of acid reflux and I couldn’t fall back to sleep after feeling like my throat was on fire so I started searching on Amazon for a pillow to help with it. I found this one and have had it for about two weeks now and I have not had even one night of heartburn since using it! That is incredible for what I had been experiencing before! It took a few nights to get used to the angle of it but now my body has figured it out and I think I sleep better altogether with it. My husband has not noticed me snoring either since I’ve been using it! That has been an unexpected positive effect as well. I was thinking before I bought this that I would need to invest in an expensive mattress that I could angle to sleep on an incline. No need for that now! It seems to stay put while sleeping too. This is totally worth the $40!!!
I love this pillow. I recently had knee surgery and was told I needed to elevate my legs. This pillow helped with the healing process and was very comfortable. It kept the swelling down. This pillow is nicely stitched and made with a soft material. I continue to use this every night when I go to bed. I even bought a second one for my father who has sciatica pain. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who has leg, edema, or who suffers from sciatica. It’s a great product with a great price.
Almost perfect. I needed a wedge to lift my head when I sleep because every once in awhile I have problems with acid reflux. I ordered this one because it was well-priced and the 7.5 inch height is perfect. It arrived quickly and I used it for the first time last night. At first, it was awesome in every way. I did notice the scent that all visco-elastic has. No problem. I fell asleep quickly but after a few hours, I was jostled from my snooze because I couldn't breathe. I realized that the scent from the foam was quite strong. I assume it got stronger due to the heat of my body. The smell permeated everything, including the down pillows that were laying adjacent to the wedge. I removed the wedge from my bed and had to put the down pillows on the floor because of the strong smell. I then had to rig my other pillows to elevate my head. So, one star off because of the strong smell. I assume the smell will dissipate as the wedge is exposed to fresh air. But be advised that if strong smells are an issue, this may not be the wedge for you.
Not for side sleepers at all. Item arrived fine, popped right up to full size (ships flattened). No heavy/toxic odor which was nice! I got the 7" one, hoping it would allow me to still be able to sleep on my side, but nope. It shows people sleeping on their side, but it is too much pressure on the ribs/hip then after about 5 minutes. I'm almost 60, so maybe that only works for younger people in great shape. LOL Otherwise, the quality seems quite good - I will use it as a loveseat cushion instead.
Cons
Comparison of two versions. First, I purchased the flat top pillow for elevating my legs when I had a displaced meniscus tear (a piece of cartilage had torn and lodged between the two leg bones that meet at my knee, keeping me from being able to straighten my leg fully). This cushion is nice. It inflated completely right away. A few weeks later, I bought the 7” wedge because I had surgery, and they told me it was important from then on to fully straighten my leg while elevating it. Unfortunately, this cushion is not as nice as the first one: it didn’t inflate as quickly and one edge is sorta permanently funky/melty. I just took off both covers for the first time and washed/dried according to instructions. I noticed the zipper for this pillow is really annoying (first photo). It takes a lot of effort to get it fully zipped, especially around the corner, and it keeps stopping like it’s caught even though it isn’t. It also feels like it could break pretty easily. It helped to pull it taut from the top, but that’s also hard to do while also pulling thin zipper and trying to make sure the inside parts of the zipper stay out of the way. The zipper on the flat top pillow (second photo) is much sturdier, and I had no issues at all zipping it. Although the covers are removable and washable, it’s definitely NOT easy to get them on and completely aligned, so it’s not something I will be doing terribly often. I noticed the cover catches lint, but it seems to have come off during the washing/drying, so that was nice. The foam on the two versions are different colors, and the flat top pillow foam seems nicer—as in the shape and edges are crisper. I’m honestly really sad about the zipper on the regular wedge because it’s such a PITA and who knows how long it will last.
It wasn’t what I needed. I got this in hopes that it would give just a little angle to my pillow….but it is much larger than anticipated (my bad for not measuring), and it is quite high, so I feel like I’m constantly sliding down it. It’s also pretty hard, and I would have definitely appreciated something a little more squishy. I’m disappointed because I would like to return it, and even started the process with Amazon, but I don’t think there’s any way I’m getting this back into the box, because of its size once you let it out of the wrapper. Soooo…I could see it being great for some people, but make sure before you buy it, because it’s near impossible to return. :/
too high for me. sorry to give this 3 stars, it is very good quality. it is too high for me and uncomfortable. I've used it now for 1 week. Alas, I thought it would really help. too hard without a pillow, with a pillow I simply 'slip down'. I am going to put 4" blocks under the legs at the head of my bed (what the doc suggested in the first place). It is very good quality, and not a bad price, unfortunately it didn't work for me,
not as high as the picture indicates. When this came I thought they sent me the wrong one but it was rolled up and compressed. When I got it open it wasn't as high as the picture indicated it would be. We are going to keep it and use it but we need to put a pillow under it to get the heels off the bed. If you have heavier legs or longer legs you might have to do that also. The guality seems nice.
Not helping after spine surgery. I had some spine surgery and afterwards needed to elevate my head. The problem with this 7" wedge pillow is that 1) it isn't high enough to support my spine, and 2) I keep slipping down throughout the night, making the support even worse. I wish someone would come up with some velcro-type contraption to keep people like me from sliding down the pillow.
Not for me - Medium Firm. I purchased this at the recommendation of a friend. Received well packaged and it inflated very quickly. I laid on it for a few minutes and it was a bit too firm for me. So I gave it to a friend who really appreciated it. If you are light weight and small this might be too firm. Or I just like softer materials due to pressure point pains.
