Pros
Would absolutely recommend for both kids and adults. I have had a great time using this kindle paper white. While it is advertised for kids, it is a great deal for adults. The battery absolutely lives up to the two week estimate. There is no advertising up on opening, it is waterproof. Shutting off the child function is not at all a problem and thereafter it functions just like a regular paper white. Print is clear and wasy to adjust and comes with a "warmth" adjustment if you don't like the tint of the screen. Absolutely worth the price.
Battery is disappointing. This tablet is perfect for kids. They can still get distracted in the store downloading books but otherwise it's a good tablet. One downside is that if the screen in lit above paper white the battery tends to drain within a few hours.
Perfect! I bought this for my daughter for Christmas. I wasn't sure how she would handle reading on a tablet as she loves books! However, her books are overrunning our home and I felt this would help reduce the accumulation. She LOVES it. It goes everywhere with her. Anytime she is bored she says "oh yeah, I have a Kindle". We downloaded the library app (to my phone) and can check out books to her Kindle. I even bought myself a second one because I liked her's so much.
