Good sounding speaker but powers off after 10-15 min. Good sounding speaker but if you don’t use it within 10-15 min it will power off . My jbl flip 5 stays on standby and I don’t have to turn it on I can connect via Bluetooth every time . So if you are disabled like me it’s Impossible to get up and turn power on . Wish it would go into sleep mode or standby and not totally turn off so I can always connect via Bluetooth . And cord fits in very loosely for some reason .

Should not have bought from Amazon. I bought this for my brother as a Christmas present. He already had one and had been talking for months about how he would love a second one because party boxes only sync up with other party boxes. He was on cloud 9 when he opened his present and I felt like the coolest brother in the world... until we plugged it in. Right away we noticed that one of the circular lights was not functioning. I told him I would return it, but he insisted that it was not worth the trouble and the sound quality was the important part. And the sound was fine. Fast forward two month now, and I just went to my brother's house and I immediately noticed that one of the party boxes was missing. He told me that the one I bought for him started crackling and the sound was basically unbearable. I asked if I could take a look, and he was indeed correct. Even on a low volume the crackling takes over any enjoyment that these party boxes should be supplying. His original party box he has had for over two years now. The brand new one I bought him from Amazon has failed in less than 2 months. Considering the cost of this item, this is extremely disappointing and honestly just completely embarrassing. My brother has done so much for me, and I thought I was truly doing something genuinely nice for him but very unfortunately this product has come up very short for me in a pretty devastating way.
Great sounding speaker but DJ's beware, this speaker is not for DJ'ing. I bought two of these party boxes with the intent of using them for outdoor DJ gigs. There is terrible latency between the sound coming out of the speakers compared to what you cue up in the headphones. I tried every possible way to hook up the mixer directly (wired rca's to 3.5mm) to the aux inputs of the speaker. No combinations would work. The only way around it is to mix in the headphones. I tried doing some online research and it seems there is a signal processor/suppressor built into the speaker that causes the latency. If JBL can come up with some kind of firmware update to eliminate it, that would probably be the only way to fix this issue. I did try these on the beach and man do they sound great with just bass boost level 1 activated. It's just too bad all you can do is play music off your phone.
Warning - Not Compatible With JBL App. They seem to make multiple version of this and I was disappointed to find out this this one doesn't support their JBL app. Other than that, they sound great.
No. The nicest thing about it is the build quality. It's not that loud. It's ok in my house, but outside it just doesn't cut the mustard, and it is advertised for such use. I'd hoped to have something I could use while doing yardwork. The lights are kind of neat. The coolest thing about them is that you can turn them off. Unfortunately, the designer decided to include weird sci-fi effect noises at a preset volume when you do stuff like turn it on or turn bluetooth pairing on or you pair your device to it. If there is a way to turn that off, I didn't see it. In the Questions section, JBL Customer Service claims "Bluetooth range can be up to 30 ft without any wireless interference and obstacles in between." It starts cutting out around 10 feet or so. The Bass Boost thing is just as gimmicky as any other brand. If that's your thing, you won't be disappointed, but don't expect it to make you fall in love with such "technology." I think the only reason this thing got so many 5-star ratings is because people expect so little from bluetooth speakers. This thing is not any sort of exception, so don't get your hopes up. It's just not that good. I paid $300 for it ($71 off) and meh...It's worth about $200. It's a 160w bluetooth speaker. Edit: i have had this thing for about a month. It is just weak sauce. Save your money. It sounds like someone poured music through 60 watts of pure feces.
Great for parties bad for audiophiles. The JBL Party Box 100 - Solid, attractive and can throw bass all the way down the street, amazing. Its perfect for a backyard BBQ But bring it into your living room and turn it down to background music level and you might be disappointed if you are into hi fi sound reproduction. To me the sound is dull. At a lower volume in a room, I much prefer my Bose Mini II, which is 5 yrs old.
Lasted 1 Year and then quite working. This has amazing sound, we have really enjoyed using BUT it is a little over a year old bought May of 2020 and it has died on us. No power, will not turn on, we have taken very good care of this making sure it has been kept in doors. So aggravated at the life of the speaker since we really only used it on weekends for short periods of time. Overall I will give 3 stars since it quit working.
