Pros

Solid product, works as advertised, and producer actively seeks feedback from customers: thumbs up! The FloatPro does everything it claims to do, no problem for me. I used it with an original GoPro HD Hero 1, the ones that came out around 2010, while snorkeling and enjoying the Caribbean ocean. I was pleased that it had no problems keeping my original HD Hero afloat, as newer GoPro's are all smaller and lighter. (I did not use any special backpacks, just the original configuration). For me, the wrist strap is a good enough length to be able to palm the camera from behind and operate the start/stop recording buttons, although some have complained that the cord could be longer. There is a clip so you can detach the floating portion from the cord, it seems sufficiently sturdy. I have confidence that it will hold through repeated wipeouts when surfing, etc. My only criticism is that the black with orange trim looks stylish, but a different color option to prioritize visibility for recovery over style would be a welcome addition. An orange with black trim, for example, would be welcomed by many. GoPro cameras (and their owners) are often concerned with being cool and stylish, yes, but I'm willing to bet a good majority of GoPro owners would value function (high visibility) over form for their float system. Overall, this is a fine product at a good price, and I feel it is superior to the GoPro floaty backdoor; the wrist strap adds convenience and value. I would recommend this product if you are thinking of taking your GoPro into the water.

Float Pro Floating Wrist Strap. I took this wrist strap to Florida Sea Base (a Boy Scout High adventure base) and it held up great! This Float Pro Wrist Strap saved my GoPro Hero 4 Black twice and was easy to use. Personally I would have benefited more from a floating handle attached to the GoPro for easy holding, however this wrist strap did its job very well and I do not see many problems with the design. Pros - Comfortable - Adjustable - Light Weight - Easy to use - Bright color for spotting float in water - Fits Most Cameras Cons - Had to use an awkward claw grip for Go Pro - My grip caused me to end recordings accidentally Ideas for later revisions/products - Changing color to orange interior with black trim for extra visibility. - A Floating handle to accommodate both a standard camera mount and a GoPro mount for easy point and shoot videos. Overall I found the Float Pro Floating Wrist Strap to be a strong product and it held up well in rough conditions with no damage. This strap saved my camera investment and allowed me to be comfortable taking my GoPro in the ocean. I highly recommend this product for anyone taking a camera in the water.

Snorkling was nice; I could let me hands free to swim ... This Float sure came in handy on a trip to Jamaica earlier this year. At first, I had some anxiety that somehow the cord would not be snug on the GoPro case since it was just a simple tie. But after jumping in and giving a few tugs, I felt confident nothing would happen. Snorkling was nice; I could let me hands free to swim and the float kept the GoPro nicely dangling behind me. I didn't have any thought about losing my camera the entire trip. As a few other mentioned, the wrist strap is VERY thick. I left it unsnapped. If I snapped the button, it was very tight around my wrists. The little quick disconnect buckle is nice and sturdy. I didn't really use it for anything, but it's a nice feature. The only thing I noticed after the fact is the orange stips got washed out by the sun, and now mine has a white/orange look to it, instead of the super bright orange when it was brand new. I look forward to using it this summer in our pool and when we go camping.

Keep your investment safe in the water! I've used this on my GoPro for about 15 hours of underwater footage, and it's a nice easy way to have a little extra added security in the event you let go of your camera. If you've dropped your camera in water before, you'll already know it'll sink! Wrist strap is comfortable, and the bright color makes it easy to see in the water. The flotation device has no problems keeping my GoPro afloat, and is a must have device if you're shooting in the water. I did take a star off as the button to secure to the wrist isn't super forgiving on a larger wrist. If I leave the button unsnapped, the camera strap is way too loose, and if you're jumping in the water, or swimming/diving, it's easy to separate yourself from the camera. With the snap on, it's just a tad too tight. I'd love to see a way to accommodate some small adjustment in the fit, but overall very pleased with the product.

Best looking strap on the market by FAR & works well too! These people are GREAT! Super fast & even emailed me personally to check on how I liked the item. It is very comfortable and I really LOVE the sporty look. It easily attached to my camera and made me feel my camera was much safer while in the ocean off Cozumel. I understand another model in in the works which may work better for my camera as it weighs a few more ounces then the float-pro was rated to float. I knew that going in but still felt way more secure with and in no way regret the purchase. Will for sure by a new model if one is developed for a slightly heavier camera. Thanks float-pro!!. update! I got the newer version and it totally floats my Canon D30!! I see someone else noted that the original did, but that was not my experience. Not sure how it could have given the weight but..... I liked the original however the newer model is way better for my camera. These float pro people are wonderful. Really I can not recommend enough! Well worth having!!!

Nice sturdy and very visible strap. I purchased the floating wrist strap(orange) for GoPro 4. I did take it to the pool for a couple days. It is very durable. It'll absorb some pool water, but overnight it was dried. Orange strip is very attractive and visible. It will float on water. Inside the strap, there is a metal button so it can be fitted it for people have smaller wrist. For me, I'm just average height and weight. Wrist is about 2 3/4 in. wide. With close button, it's too small. Open the button, it's too big. It is definitely not a deal breaker since I will use it in the pool, if it come out of my wrist, it will float. But, if I use it outside of water, I might drop it on the floor. This is the only thing that stop me from buying another one for out of the water usage.

Cons

Glad I got it but could be better. The Floatpro is very nicely constructed. I like the cushy soft band, and the neoprene material and stitching all looks good and very well-made. I had bought it as a gift, but when it arrived in a ziploc bag with a sticker label, it looked a tad bit cheap, so I ended up keeping it for myself to try out since I needed one anyway. It definitely floats my GoPro - no problem! I was concerned about the thin cord, but I pulled it a few times and seems VERY strong and secure. The snap button gives me a nice secure fit and the quick-release clip isn't THAT quick which is a GOOD thing imo because I don't want it accidently unclipping! My only issues with the FloatPro are: 1) The orange trim is a nice accent, but it's too small an area to easily spot in a river where there are waves and the river bottom is rocky and dark. I guess in a swimming pool or clear Caribbean waters, it wouldn't be an issue. But when my camera floated a few yards away under some tree shade, it was hard to spot. 2) The string is a kinda short to begin with, but once you loop it onto your gopro, you're left with very little string length to hold the camera and shoot with the same hand. A little longer string would be great. Still a worthwhile investment to keep my camera nearby.

Buyer beware. ****Important**** I very rarely write reviews but I purchased this item last December and it was working fine. The only issue I had with it was that the little but on the strap came undone. No problem really with that just super glued it. Fast forward to today. Was out tubing on my friends boat wiped out still had the camera and strap on my hand, next my friend went on the tube and wanted to use my Gopro. I agreed to let him use it, but before handing it to him me being very worried about my Gopro I check the clip to make sure it was secure, had him put the strap on his wrist with the button on and closed the strap on his wrist to secure it tightly. Next hes out on the tube wipes out and when we come around with the boat hes like the camera came off. So needless to say because this product is held together by a cheap little clip to your $400 camera I would NOT recommend it. Because of this strap my new Gopro is sitting at the bottom of a lake about 100 ft deep. Pretty angry and upset about even using a product this cheap. Now Im sure it doesnt even have to but tubing but could almost be any water sport where if the clip its the water just right it comes undone.

Light, and supports the weight of the Hero 4 ... Light, and supports the weight of the Hero 4. Is smaller than I expected, and I found the fit tight around my wrist, therefore the clasp would not stay secured and the cord felt short with little to play with when trying to grab and hold the camera for recording. I am medium a build adult male so probably OK for the smaller frame.

Not Worth the Risk. Faulty Strap, Lost GoPro Within First Five Minutes... I don't disbelieve the many positive reviews here; however, everyone should be warned that this product canNOT be considered reliable. Within the first five minutes of use in the ocean, and the very first "test" of the strap, my kid's GoPro and our trip's photos and videos were lost forever. Cannot begin to explain the awful feeling of looking down to see the end of the strap empty. And the frustration of wasting hours searching... Does not hold up to the claim: "The strap attaches securely and easily with a sturdy quick release clip that has the strongest lanyard to withstand big waves and rocky waters" The thin cord that attaches to the clip had failed with the first wave to bump it. Look elsewhere, this product can't be trusted.

Probably works in most cases.. It'll probably work for a gopro but not for a proshot case with an iphone. It just sank... Iphone is about 4.5 ounces, I didn't think the proshot case was more than 2-3 ounces. Either it was or this thing doesn't actually float up to 8 ounces.

Sank below the surface. Camera in waterproof housing and GoPro official "selfies stick" sank with this attached. Not all the way to the bottom but was not surface retrievable. A simple locking wrist strap attached to a larger floaty would work better.
