So easy for beginners! I am so satisfied with my purchase! Until I started using the kit I was wearing regular shellac polish that would come off after 2-3 days for the longest and not with the neatest application either. Now having done my nails with this gel polish kit using gel on my nails for the first time aaaaand doing it myself (my credo lol) I am on day 10 of a manicure that is still getting compliments! Hooray! And day 3 on my pedicure. I am doing everything on my natural nails (keeping it natural another credo lol). The kit comes with everything you need with the exception of a gel polish remover and a cuticle removing liquid for cleaning your cuticles beforehand if you are doing a waterless manicure. The kit comes with every step you need to do in successfully completing your manicure but I treat everything like a research project so before and after purchasing the kit I was reading blogs and watching YouTube videos so that I knew if I needed additional items, how to use everything correctly, what dangers I might face (I use UV manicure gloves and sunscreen with the lamp just to be safe Melodie Suzi) and what fun I was in for. Doing it for the first time it took me a while to get my hand done but being guided by videos from YouTube channels like Oh My Gel and YoungNails was very helpful. The main lesson is that successful application requires proper preparation of your nails. I was concerned after reading low ratings But having done it myself I think a lot of the poor reviews were user error. I got everything the kit listed with instructions and did everything that needed to do to get the best results! I suggest you do your research (Oh My Gel and YoungNails helped) and take your time if you are beginner. I made some mistakes still of course but remember my learnings and was able to correct quickly and I am having a bunch of fun! Yay pretty colors, easy application, no stinky smells, quick drying with lamp, so far quite durable! Try it!
Better than regular nail polish, but has its issues. I really *wanted* to be able to give this 5 stars, but the gel polish is very sheer. I’ve been doing 2 coats and can still see my nail through the polish. I like an opaque look to my nail polish, and this would require at least 3 coats of the color. I haven’t tried 3 coats yet because I had some issues with my first entire application due to not buffing my nails first (the gel manicure was peeling off within a couple hours to a couple days). I will try doing 3 coats of color but fear the thickness and potential of easier peeling. Edit: 3 coats and still a bit sheer in color. Wish it was more opaque, but GENERALLY like this product.
This has been so much fun! I have never bothered much with my nails. Regular polish chips off immediately, so there really is no point. I have loved gels and they last, but I really haven't had the time or funds to go to the salon regularly. I bought this a few months ago figuring it could be fun to play with at home for myself and my 3 daughters. It was such a great purchase! After a couple of manis with this set that went really well, I bought more polishes from this brand. We've done so many nails in the time since and here are my lessons learned so you don't have to learn them yourselves. -Prep, prep, prep. If you don't prep your nails properly, they will fall off whole pretty quickly. Adding a dehydrating step will help adhesion a lot. -For my oily nails that tend to be more fragile, I find the builder gel is a better base coat than the one included. Worth the price extra purchase and 90s of curing time. -The base coat and color coats WILL be tacky. Cure the base for 30s and color for 60s for each thin coat (2-3 coats, depending on shade for color saturation). All will be well after curing with top coat for 90s. -Sometimes the colors look streaky when applied, but they smooth and blend when cured and come out looking the way they should. It's like it melts together into a beautiful sheet of color. But I found it concerning when I first saw the streaks. -These tend to adhere really well to the free part of the nail and we're really hard to get off soaking with acetone. Save yourself the time and get the Aliver gel polish remover Amazon sells. It removed this like a dream without the damage to my nails. -I have found that Modelones stickers on their polish bottle tops don't reflect the color super accurately. They tend to be brighter on the nail. Not a huge deal, but good to know. I've had so many compliments on my nails since I've started doing them with Modelones polish. There has been a learning curve and lots of touch ups as I figure it out. But I've had more compliments on these than with $50 salon manicures, so I am going to keep it up. And the bonding time with my girls has made it more than worth the price.

Perfect for beginners. The amount of money I've saved on manicures since getting this... I've been trying to be more budget conscious and decided $60 for a gel manicure twice a month just wasn't worth it, so I got this kit. The reason I used to go for manicures is I thought i was too uncoordinated to do my nails. I do alot of typing and I can't keep them long. I found this kit to be really user friendly. It comes with everything you need to get started. It comes with 7 polish colors but the bottles are pretty small (6ml). That's fine, if the bottles were larger, it'd just be more clutter and I'd have colors I wouldn't want to use but feel obligated not to waste. It also comes with a nail primer, a base coat, and a top coat. Also comes with that coarse nail file thing to smooth your nail (sorry, i don't know what they're called), nail trimmers, and a little paintbrush to put oil on your cuticles. Only thing it DOESN'T come with that I had to purchase separately was the electric nail file thing to remove your gel manicure when you're done, but I was able to find a great one for $12 here on Amazon. It comes with some jewels and stickers if you want to bedazzle your nails, but I barely know how to file my nails, I had no interest in attempting to use them but it's cool they were included. Even with how bad I am at doing nails, after reading the instructions, I found it pretty easy and really painless to do while I'm watching TV. It takes probably 20 minutes now to give myself a manicure. If I can do it, so can a child. I thought the polishes would be cheap, but they're pretty decent quality, consistently pigmented, easy to apply, and generally "no chip". I am taking off one star because after using this for 2 months I find that sometimes my manicure "peels" off after a few days, or doesn't consistently harden after that initial base coat. Even after curing the base coat for 2+ minutes it still feels sticky? I read that this may be because the intensity of the UV light is wearing down and isn't strong enough to harden it. After 2 months of almost weekly use I still have the initial top coat, base coat, and nail primer provided, so after I'm finished with those I'll probably try a new bottle of base coat and see if that makes a difference. If not, I will look into replacing the UV lamp, which I can afford since I've saved so much money by doing my own nails.

Eh, its still worth it. TL;DR,-- 4/5 for newbies, great buy. 2/5 for pros, wouldn't bother unless you're buying ONLY for travel for events 1-2 nights at a time. Like many others said, the polish is mediocre but the kit is still a good value. I decided to purchase as a sort of experiment to test out brands. I bought it on sale for $31, and thats a fair price. Polish only lasts a couple days, but honestly, that's better for testing out colors/designs and practicing technique. The pro of them coming off quickly is, they peel in one clean sheet. Would I buy the polish again? No. But its not necessarily a con if you're new to gels and need to practice application. This set is good for a newbie, not good for a pro, to put it simply. Though, I have to say, the UV is good quality. I love how lightweight it is, thats unique for a UV, and I do prefer UV over LED personally. Great to have a full size unit that you can still travel with.

Does the job just not for me. This nail set was good but just not for me. I quickly realized that I can not paint my nails too well and got a lot of polish on my cuticles. When I went back in to clean up after they dried I ended up peeling chunks off. My whole pinky nail polish came off in the shower the next morning. I also noticed that a few of the LED lights turned off/on sporadically while drying which may have led to the weak connection.
